Btw this req was made so long ago that I genuinely forgot how Wes and Cody met (did they even meet??) so here's my take on how they met. Also I completely forgot how Wes is like so I watched maybe a few minutes of an episode featuring his first time meeting the bots.

Dear diary,

  I've made a new friend: Wes!

  After the recruits spent a decent amount of time with him, he began to be more open and less shy talking to more of us. He spoke with the Rescue Bots, my dad, my siblings. I haven't been around that often for him to get to know me more.

Frankie got sick recently, so I dedicated more time to her instead. She also needed a replacement teacher until she got better, so I stepped in. The kids are well-behaved, thanks to Frankie's consistent guidance and compliments.

I have only exchanged a few hi's and bye's with Wes, never a full conversation. Whirl once excitedly come up to me after a day at the preschool telling me that Wedge had finally warmed up to Wes, and that they are considering to be partners once Wedge becomes an official Rescue Bot. I feel glad that Wedge finally has someone to confide in. The relationship between human and bot is getting better and better as the years go by. It has been 5 years, after all.

When Frankie had gotten better, she offered to pay me for my time, which I declined. I was only helping out a friend of many years. I visited the school one last time to bid farewell to the kids after talking and hanging out with them for these past two weeks.

Once I made a return to the academy, everyone rushed up to me welcoming me back. Hot Shot wanted to show off some new Cube moves - a 360 trickshot and some unusual kicks which I am excited about. Whirl wanted to show me a project she helped Hoist to complete. Wedge decided to formally introduce his newfound partner to me.

"Wes! I am so sorry I couldn't meet you until now," I started. "As you may know, I'm Cody." I reached out to him offering a handshake. He gently exchanged a handshake back. His hesitation clearly exposed his shyness.

"Wes, it is great to meet you," Wes smiled. "I've been hanging out with the recruits, they're fun. They've told me the advice you gave to them during times of need. You must be great with people."

"People and bots alike!" I laughed. "How about we switch things up and head back to Griffin Rock?"

"I would love to," Wes nodded. Then, he turned to Wedge. "Don't worry, I'll be back in time to do some practice sims with you."

Wedge nodded. "I'll complete my assignments in the meantime. Go have fun!"

Since Heatwave was free for a few hours, he tagged along with the grand Grififn Rock visit. Throughout the ride, Wes couldn't help but feel intrigued and amazed at how Heatwave could drive all by himself without a driver.

"I get that a lot, especially when the kids kept begging for a ride and got it," Heatwave scoffed at the last part. "I don't understand what the point of becoming famous is. I didn't want to be famous, I just wanted to do my job."

Soon, we reached dad's favourite bakery. This place brought back a lot of memories for me. Dad had went missing once with Chase, and we were told that dad had dropped by earlier that day for his birthday cake. I felt really bad that day.

"You two enjoy, I'll have a drive of my own. Cody, let me know when you two are ready to head somewhere else," Heatwave dropped us off and left on his own.

"This place held a lot of memories for me," I sighed. "Let's head in, I'll tell you about how this bakery became the biggest clue in the mystery of my dad being missing."

Wes's eyes widened. "This place helped you guys find him? How?"

"Yeah, and it was frightening," I recalled. "What type of cake do you like?"

A few hours passed, we decided to leave the bakery. From that conversation, I learned that Wes had always been this shy, until one day when he had an opportunity to hang out at the academy, he decided to brave up and got himself a spot. Character development!

Heatwave came to pick us up, and we went back to the mainland. Wes clearly had a great time, and I'm glad I finally had the chance to spend some time with him!

I cannot wait to see the day when Wes and Wedge team up. It would be epic!
