Thanks for requesting!! ^-^

The emergency alarm rang. All Rescue Bots - recruits and official Rescue Bots were required to be on site immediately. Coordinates were sent to each individual. You were put in charge of communications since Cody was busy with college.

"I'm your moral support for the day," you chuckled.

"Glad to have you on the team!" Hoist smiled.

"No time to chat, we have to go now," Heatwave reminded. "Rescue Bots, roll to the rescue!"

Hoist examined the coordinates carefully before whimpering. You immediately switched the camera to his dash cam attached in his interior.

"Hoist? Are you okay?" you asked, frowning.

"Yeah, uhh, no one told me we were going to the dinosaur park!" Hoist yelped.

"It's okay Hoist," Blades advised. "Overcome your fear!"

"It's difficult," Hoist mumbled.

"Hoist, you have me as the communications officer for today," you assured the mech. "You got this, the team and I got your back."

"Thanks, (Y/N)," Hoist continued his driving. "I needed it."

"Focus on driving, you doofus," you teased.

"I'm not a doofus!"

As Hoist approached the area with Blades flying behind him, they found blockades placed around the area by Chase and Whirl. Heatwave and Hot Shot had their servos full of water spraying at the spilt molten lava. Their optics narrowed, focusing on cooling down the lava and not burning themselves. Once the lava makes contact with their fragile armour, it could be difficult to repair.

"Hoist, some dinos are stuck in a hole on the ground," you opened the camera and swiped it to the next monitor beside Hoist's point of view. "They're due East, be careful of the lava."

"Got it, thanks (Y/N)," Hoist gulped internally. He turned to find Hot Shot looking at him.

"I'll give you a boost, hurry, Hoist!" Hot Shot yelled. "Professor Heatwave's gonna run out of water soon!"

Hoist turned to the camera that you were coincidentally looking up. His face was scrunched up like a dried sponge out of worry and fear. You could see the colour of his chubby face slowly draining away.

"You'll be okay, Hoist, ya got this," you told the young mech in his com frequency. "You got this. Remember what Blades said."

Hoist turned back to Hot Shot, who was impatiently yelling at him, yet it was understandable. With a deep breath, Hoist ran, picking up speed and let Hot Shot boost him over the bubbling lava.

He was ready to save the beings he feared the most.

"Nice one, Hoist and Hot Shot!" you exclaimed. "Now, Hoist, seems like the baby dinosaurs are left in the hole. Blades and Whirl already helped the adult ones get to safety."

"Got it."

"And be careful, the forest is on fire from the lava."

Hoist heard the whining and wailing of the adult dinosaurs. It used to instill fear in the poor young recruit, but this time his Spark felt a stab of empathy.

It almost hit close to home.

"Hoist!" an adult femme cried out.

"Primus, I told you that we shouldn't have given him his own room!" a mech accompanying the femme yelled. "If he continued to use our room, the fire wouldn't have obstructed his only escape!"

"This is not the time to argue!" the femme yelled back. Her optics went back to focus on her poor youngling's room window. There the youngling stood nearby the window, scratching the pane and screaming.

Inside the room, the fire took down the cabinets with one of them landing right beside Hoist. He squealed, pushing himself out of the way and dropped to the ground. He tried climbing back to the platform to see his parental units again. Losing the sight of them felt like the fire would devour the poor mechling within a second.

As he reached out one servo to the platform, the whole house shook. Hoist looked down, noticing several cracks on the ground. He cried out for his parental units, but they were watching from the outside in the embrace of safety, helpless. He could hear his carrier wailing, shouting hopeless at his sire.

"Hey, youngling! Don't worry, we'll catch you!"

"Don't worry little one, we will save you..."

Hoist rushed into the hole, where the baby dinosaurs wailed as they dodged the debris falling on them. He reached his steady servo out to the dinosaurs.

"Don't worry guys, I'll save you."

You smiled out of relief. When Hoist had flashbacks, you would be there physically to comfort him and reassure him that nothing bad like that would happen again. He would let you gently caress his servo as he sobbed and trembled. It was always an awful sight to see him weak, but you were glad that he was willing to show this side of him to you instead of bottling up his emotions. From experience, you knew it was unhealthy.

You couldn't help but notice that you were almost always there for the young mech, and vice versa. Whenever he had no one to show his inventions to, you gladly lent a listening ear. When you had no one to share your interest to, Hoist would show up and listen to you. He would make your days brighter than any light; make you stronger than the toughest rock; make you feel loved eternally.

"I've got the baby dinos!" Hoist declared. You punched the air out of excitement. (Poor oxygen atoms)

"Medix, get this brave mech outta the forest," you instructed as you panned the camera to a different location.

A few hours later of cleaning up and tending to the injured, Hoist and the team returned to the academy safely. You noticed how confident Hoist became as he walked.

"You were great, Hoist," you grinned.

"Thanks to your words of affirmation!" the blue-green mech smiled brightly. "Hey, I have a new invention idea! Wanna hear it?"

You chuckled. "Sure! What are we waiting for?"
