5 YEARS LATER

"Congratulations, anak. I'm so proud of you." Naluluha na bati sa akin ni Mom. She hugged me tightly as I did the same. I graduated from Culinary as a Baking and Pastry chef. It took me a lot of courage because this is the first time to study along with other students here in New York. It's a challenge because I have to meet and deal with different persons every year while I'm still undergoing my Psychotherapy that ended last year and I'm proud to say that I'm now confidently okay.

I can dine in every food chain, touch other things and vice versa, and without paying attention to the small details of dirt. I can now hang out with different people, even having fun inside a bar.

"Thanks, Mom. Matutupad na lahat ng gusto ko." I told her with too much excitement written on my face.

Mom is the best by the way. She's always with me throughout the year and she never leaves my side kahit na sobrang miss na niya si Daddy. While Daddy is calling us almost everyday kapag hindi na busy sa work niya. He's now a Governor and I'm proud to say that kahit na pinagmalupitan niya ako noon. Masasabi ko na isa pa rin talaga siyang mabuting tao.

At naintindihan ko naman siya, siguro mahirap lang tanggapin na nawalan ka ng isang anak. Kristoff is his favorite son at hindi ko siya masisi kung bakit ganun ang reaction niya. Pero pinagsisihan naman niya lahat ng ginawang kamalian niya sa akin, ramdam ko rin naman na gusto talaga niyang bumawi, that's why I'm here right now. Doing better day by day.

But aside from that, alam ko na may kulang pa rin. It's like half of my soul and heart are still missing. Masaya naman ako sa mga nagdaang mga taon, pero kulang pa rin. Nakukulangan pa rin ako.

I'm happy but it's not enough happiness for me.

"And what's with the face? It's your graduation day yet you're sulking. Para kang pinagsakluban ng langit at lupa." Natatawa na ani ng aking kaibigan habang papalapit ito sa amin ni Mom. Ellie handed me the flowers he brought and greeted me.

Yes, It's Ellie Saavedral. Nagkakilala kami 5 years ago and then we became friends. Napag-alaman ko rin na ex pala niya si Pancho which is A-Axel's friend. I meet him at the coffee shop while I'm doing my Psychotherapy by interacting with some people that I don't personally know. Try to talk to them, getting to know each other and such.

Luckily Ellie was there and I'm so lucky that it was him I talked on that day. And just like that we became close friends.

"You're here! I thought you were busy?" Nangiti kong turan kay Ellie as I accepted the flowers. I smelled it, ahhh I really love flowers.

"Kinda, pero siningit kita sa schedule ko." He said and smiled at me. Ellie is a famous figure skater here in New York. Marami na rin siyang contest na sinalihan and of course he always won. Ang galing kaya nitong kaibigan ko.

Ellie and I had a strong bond as friends. Sabay rin kasi kaming nag move on para sa nasawi naming pag-ibig. Pero mukhang siya lang yata ang naka move on, kasi pakiramdam ko nakatali pa rin ako sa past. My feelings are still there, getting stronger day by day.

Kung tinatanong niyo if I had any information about Axel for the past five years well, I don't. I know what happened to him, I don't know a single thing about him since the day I left him with a broken heart.

Natakot ako eh, takot akong malaman kung ano na ang naging buhay niya. Maybe he is happily married now. Yeah, that must be it.

"You know what, why don't we celebrate?" Ellie suggested. Nandito na kami ngayon sa bahay having our dinner. I invited him over at mabuti na lang at free siya for the whole day.
