Chapter 7

Third pov

The living room is peaceful as the two of them just relax their mind while cuddling with each other. Both are lost in their own thoughts until Chaeyoung broke the silence.

"Mina, I called your mom a while ago."

"Wh-what? Why did you call her and how did you get her number?"

"I was really worried for you so I thought I should call your mom as I have her number. I found her number on your school ID back then. When I am transferring some of my stuffs here, I saw your ID on the bed, and I thought of saving your mom's number just in case you know."

"Ohhhh"

"But why is she like that? She seemed like she doesn't care of you?"

"Maybe she was just busy."

"Oh yeah she told me that."

Mina nodded as a response as she doesn't want this topic of her mom to last longer. The room was quiet for minutes not until Chaeyoung once asked a question again.

"Mina"

"hmmm?"

"Why didn't you show up during break time a while ago?"

"I was sick so I just stayed in the classroom to rest"

Chaeyoung then sat up and put her palm on Mina's forehead to check the older's temperature.

"Are you okay now? Why didn't you tell me you were sick? I could've taken care of you."

"I'm fine now. I'm just tired because there are a lot of school works we have to submit."

"Still, you're health is more important you know? I will let it slide this time, but next time if you are sick, you should tell me okay?"

"I don't want to bother you plus I grew up handling myself alone so I can take care of myself."

"Don't be stubborn penguin." Chaeyoung said in a serious tone while pointing a finger on Mina as if she was scolding a child.

Mina chuckled at the younger's response. "Don't be stubborn cub. I can take care of myself."

"I will still take care of you no matter what you say, even if you refuse."

"Why?"

"Because you are someone special to me and I care for you." Chaeyoung smiled at Mina.

"Thank you." Mina smiled back at Chaeyoung and pull the younger into a hug.

Please don't get my hopes up Chaeyoung

"You know Mina, you mean everything to me. I don't know how to live without you. You are the one who is always there for me. You always take care of me. You trust me. Having you in my life is the best blessing I have ever received."

By that, Mina suddenly felt her eyes being watery. Mina knows that Chaeyoung is sincere when she said that.

She felt happy and sad at the same time. She felt happy that Chaeyoung appreciates her and she meant everything to someone especially to the one she loves. But she felt sad knowing that Chaeyoung said this with the thought of her as her best friend only, nothing more.

"You mean everything to me too. You are the one who I treasured the most. You are my thought in the beginning and end of my day. You are someone who has a special place in my heart that no one can ever replace…. I love you."

Mina smiled at Chaeyoung who seemed shocked by the last 3 words Mina said as this is the first time she heard it from Mina. But knowing that Mina meant what she said, she smiled back at her and said what she needs to say.

"I love you too."

How I wish that "I love you" meant you love me not just as your best friend. Mina thought.

Mina brought her hand to Chaeyoung's face and caressed it. Caressing it with love and care and with the feelings she is feeling towards her. Hoping that someday the younger will realize how much she loves her.

Mina hugged Chaeyoung as she felt tears started to escape from her eyes. She doesn't want these tears to be seen by Chaeyoung knowing that she is the cause. Anyone will thought that they are just hugging, but on the other side Mina is crying through their hug.

I'll hug you like this as much as I can so that someday when you are in someone else's arms, I can remember how good it feels to have you in my arms.
