Chapter 27

Mina's pov

I woke up because of the pain I felt in my arms and legs.

"Argh, why does it hurt so much?" I massaged my arms then that's when I remembered I played tennis all night yesterday.

"Well, guess I'll be resting the whole day." I laid down again and was about to sleep when my phone rang. What a nice day really. I am trying to sleep here! Why do they always call at the wrong time?

"Hello?"

"Hi! Good morning Mina!" It's none other than Chaeyoung. Why is she so cheerful in the morning?

"There's no good in the morning." I replied.

"Why are you so grumpy in the morning? I'm just being a nice friend here." I can imagine her pouting that made me smile.

"I just want to rest. My arms and legs hurt like hell, so if you don't mind, I'll be slee-"

"What?!?! Why?! What happened to you?!" She suddenly raised her voice that made me flinch.

"Hey, calm down. You made it sound like I'm dying."

"I'm just worried you know. What happened to you?"

"I played tennis all night yesterday that's why."

"Something is bothering you again right?" She really knows me. Sometimes it is really a bad thing that she knows me so well.

"Nothing, I just want to play since it's been a while since I played."

"Well seems like you don't want to share it. I won't force you, but I'm always here to listen to you if you want to talk about it." Those words of her made me feel better. I didn't know I just need to hear those to make me feel better.

"Thank you, but I'm sorry, can we just talk later? I'm really sleepy right now." I'm telling the truth though.

"You just woke up but you are still sleepy? Fine, have a nice sleep. Luv u byeeee."

"Have a nice day. Bye, love ya." I hung up and find a comfortable sleeping position, then went to dreamland.

Chaeyoung's pov

I'm currently doing my overdue homework in my room. I actually want to spend time with Mina, but she is being the sleepyhead she is today. When Mina said that she played tennis all night yesterday, I knew something is wrong.

If you guys are wondering why there was one time when Mina played tennis all day long. I was confused because, at that time, she just finished playing. I then found out that her grades dropped. When it comes to school, Mina is serious. I think it is because of the high expectations given to her by her mom, which she always talks about to me.

This time, I wonder what is bothering her. Though we are close friends and she trusted me, she still finds it hard to open up to me. I'm not forcing her to do so.

When someone is having a hard time, you don't have to force them to tell you what's wrong, no matter how close you are to them. Wait for them to open up to you. Wait until they are ready to tell you. Just letting them know that you are always there to listen is enough.

"Chaeyoung!" My dad called me from downstairs. I closed my book and went down. When I went down, there were some people I don't know. I think they are my dad's friends.

"Why dad?"

"I want you to meet my friend and his daughter."

"Hi Chaeyoung, it is nice meeting you. Your dad always talks to me about you. I'm Mark, your dad's friend."
