Chapter 51

Mina's pov

When I entered the room, my steps were stopped when I saw the person I've been longing to see sitting and looking right at me. I couldn't believe who my eyes were seeing. I finally saw the person whose heart I broke. The person I love more than anything.

"Mina?" When my name left her mouth, I felt alive again.

Hearing my name being called by her was enough to make me fall in love with her over again.

I don't know what to feel at the moment. I don't know if I should be happy seeing her or I should be hurt because I was the reason why she's in this situation.

Whatever it is, there was only one thing I know, and that is I'm thankful that she is here in front of me.

I walked up to her slowly while fighting my tears.

"Chaeng..." I missed calling her name.

She looked down, avoiding my eyes. I have to say that the atmosphere became awkward. We haven't seen each other for months.

"Hey... do you feel okay now?" I asked as I grabbed a chair and sat beside her. She just nodded while still looking down. I can tell that she felt nervous by my presence. It seemed like seeing me made her blame herself again and overthink.

It's not her fault, and it will never be. I want her to stop blaming herself already. I want her to know that I'm here now and I will never leave her again.

I took a hold of her hand. She immediately looked at me.

"I'm here now." I smiled at her, hoping that it will stop the thoughts going on in her mind.

"Stop thinking about anything. I'm fine, and I'm here in front of you now. You're also fine, and you're here in front of me." I said, and she finally let out a smile.

"How are you?" She asked.

"I'm fine, eating a lot of food and playing games all day long." We both chuckled.

I wanted to ask her a lot of things, but I'm afraid she will remember those bad things she went through again. I know she's not fully okay yet, so instead of asking her, I decided to simply be with her.

The room became silent. I don't know how I will break the silence. As I was about to speak, she said something.

"I'm sorry, I don't have anything to talk about me."

"Hey, it's okay." I stood up and went to sit beside her. "Just seeing you safe in front of me is enough already."

"When did you know that I was hospitalized?" She asked me.

"Jihyo messaged me a name of a hospital and the room number. I got curious, so I went there. I saw Nayeon, Jeongyeon, and Momo there, and that's when I learned about you being hospitalized and missing."

"W-were y-you worried?"

"Of course, I was."

"I'm sorry..."

"Shh, stop saying sorry, alright? You don't have any fault." I caressed her hand with my thumb.

"But I do, because of me, you cried a lot and were in pain." She said while looking down.

"I chose to love you, and I was responsible for my feelings. Stop blaming yourself already, because it will hurt me more, okay?"

"Thank you,"

"For?"

"For loving me." I was stunned by what she said. I didn't know what she meant by that, but whatever it was, it made me smile and feel my heart beating again... for her.

"Thank you for letting me love you." I said and hugged her.

I missed this. I missed the feeling of her in my arms. I missed feeling her warmth. I wanted everything to stop, so I can hug her for as long as I can.

We stayed in the hug for a long time. I didn't let go, and nor did she. All I know was that we both missed being in each other's arms. I can feel my heart beating faster than before, and so did hers.

"Mina?" She called me, but she still didn't let go of me.

"Hmm?"

"Can we just... can we go back to the way we were before?"

Silence.

I couldn't find the right words because of happiness. I felt happy that she wanted us to go back to the way we were because I thought it was the end of us when I confessed to her.

"I miss you." Her voice broke.

"I miss you too." I hugged her tighter.

She looked up at me and gave me the softest smile I could ever see. I kissed her forehead and smiled at her softly.

"I'm always here for you, and I will never leave you again no matter what happens." We hugged one another again.
It was a hug full of longing and love.

Starting this day,

I will protect her.

I will heal her.

I will make her happy.

Even if it will cost my heart...

Even if I will get hurt all over again...

I want her to feel my love for her again.
