Chapter 23

Third pov

After about an hour, Mina and Chaeyoung's mom finished preparing dinner. They heard footsteps from afar and saw Chaeyoung rubbing her eyes. Both of them smiled at how cute Chaeyoung was.

"Good morning or should I say good evening? Let's eat now sweetheart." Mrs. Son smiled at her daughter and went to the table carrying the food.

"Why did you left me sleeping there?" Chaeyoung asked Mina who is smiling at her.

"Well, I don't want to ruin your beauty sleep. Come let's eat now." Mina patted Chaeyoung's head which made Chaeyoung smile.

The three of them started eating looking like a wonderful family. Mina and Mrs. Son sitting beside each other and across from them sits Chaeyoung.

"Mom, when will dad come home?" Chaeyoung asked her mom.

"He is kind of busy so he might go home late."

"I miss him especially his cooking."

"Oh, so you like his cooking more than mine?" Chaeyoung's mom raises her eyebrow at her daughter.

"It's not what I meant but... of course-"

"Oh no aunty, Chaeyoung likes uncle's cooking more." Mina interrupted Chaeyoung.

"Is that so? Such a shame, I was planning on making chocolate strawberries but you like your dad's cooking more." Mrs. Son said in a disappointed tone to tease her daughter.

"What? I didn't say that I like dad's cooking more, I want chocolate strawberries mom pleaseeeeee." Chaeyoung put her hands together pleasing her mother.

"Aunty she is lying. It's fine you can just make it for me. I missed your chocolate strawberries and I like your cooking more." Mina smiled and winked at Chaeyoung's mom.

"Oh of course you like my cooking more. That's my girl. I'll make chocolate strawberries just for you." Mrs. Son side hugged Mina while giving Chaeyoung a teasing smile.

"That's so unfair!" Chaeyoung crossed her arms and pouted like a kid. The two of them just chuckled at Chaeyoung and continued eating.

After eating, Mina and Mrs. Son went into the kitchen to make chocolate strawberries. On the other side, Chaeyoung is sitting in the living room while glaring at her mom and best friend having fun making chocolate strawberries.

"Is it my fault that dad's cooking tastes better?" She mumbled while glaring at the two women in the kitchen.

"Aunty it seems like Chaeyoung will end up killing us with her death glares." Both of them peeked at Chaeyoung and laughed.

Mina and Mrs. Son went to the living room with the chocolate strawberries. Mrs. Son picked one and feed Mina.

"Does it taste good?" Mrs. Son asked Mina.

"Of course your foods are always the best." Mina gave Mrs. Son a thumbs up and continue eating.

Chaeyoung on the other side is pouting while looking at them eating. She badly wants to try the chocolate strawberries.

While Mina and Mrs. Son is eating, they heard a sob from behind them. They turned to look and saw Chaeyoung about to burst into tears.

"Oh no baby we are just teasing you." Mina went to Chaeyoung and hugged her. At that, Chaeyoung burst into tears.

"I-i just want t-to try the chocolate st-strawberries but you w-won't give m-me even one pi-piece." Chaeyoung said between her sobs.

"Sorry, we were just teasing you. Here you can have it all." Mina grabbed the plate where the chocolate strawberries are and gave it to Chaeyoung. But Chaeyoung is still sad about earlier so Mina grabbed one and fed her instead.

After Chaeyoung tasted it, her mood lifted, and continued eating the rest. Mina let her have it all since she felt bad teasing her. Mina watched Chaeyoung eating while smiling lovingly.

Mrs. Son saw this and smiled at the sight of the two. Mina turned her head to where Mrs. Son was and saw her smiling at them. Mina smiled back at Mrs. Son before bringing her attention to Chaeyoung again.

I don't have to worry about my daughter anymore. I know you will be with my daughter till the end. Your eyes say it all.

Mrs. Son thought and smiled at them.
