Chapter 53

Third pov

After a week, Chaeyoung was discharged from the hospital. Her friends insisted to help her, but Chaeyoung told them that she will be with her parents so it's fine. But no matter how hard Chaeyoung refused, there is one person who continued to insist, resulting in Chaeyoung to agree. Mina.

It's not just to help Chaeyoung in going home and arranging her things, but also to catch up with her. 

She promised to take care of her every now and then.

Mina also want to talk to Chaeyoung's parents on why she didn't show up for months.

The drive to Chaeyoung's parents' house was quiet. Both Chaeyoung and Mina are looking at the opposite windows. 

How I wish to talk to you. Both of them thought.

When they arrived at Chaeyoung's parents' house, Mina helped Chaeyoung bring her things in her room. As Chaeyoung organized her things, Mina came down to bring Chaeyoung's stuff left in the car.

"Aunty, I'll carry it to Chaeyoung's room." Mina said to Mrs. Son who was carrying Chaeyoung's stuff.

"Okay then." Mrs. Son smiled and gave the stuff to Mina.

Mina went to Chaeyoung's room and started helping her arrange her stuffs.

"I'll just get my phone in mom's bag." Chaeyoung informed Mina. Mina nodded and continued arranging Chaeyoung's stuffs.

While Mina was hanging Chaeyoung's bag, a paper fell.

"What is this?" Mina mumbled and picked up the paper. 

As she was about to open the paper, Chaeyoung grabbed it from her. 

"What's that?" Mina frowned.

"Oh n-nothing, just a prescription from the doctor." Chaeyoung said while Mina slowly nodded. As Mina continued what she was doing, Chaeyoung secretly put the paper in her closet.

She doesn't have to know

After some time, they finished arranging Chaeyoung's stuffs. Mrs. Son called Mina to get their snacks.

"Here, you guys must be hungry." Mrs. Son gave the tray to Mina.

"Thank you aunty." Mina replied and was about to go when Mrs. Son called her.

"Mina..."

"Yes aunty?"

"Thank you." 

"Uhm for what aunty?"

"You just deserve that." Mrs. Son smiled and went to her room. Mina was left confused but she just shrugged it off and went to Chaeyoung's room.

"Strawberry!" Chaeyoung shouted as she saw what Mina was carrying. Mina smiled and put down the tray on the table.

Chaeyoung started eating as soon as she sat down while Mina was just staring at her while eating. Chaeyoung noticed it.

"Why aren't you eating? I'm about to finish it all and you haven't eaten a single piece." Chaeyoung pouted. 

"It's fine just eat. Seeing you eat well now is fine for me already." Mina chuckled. Chaeyoung smiled at her and continued eating.

I'm glad your getting well after I caused you pain. 

After eating, they just watched a movie and played some games.

"I lost again." Chaeyoung pouted.

"Aigoo it's fine." Mina chuckled while patting Chaeyoung's head.

"I'm sleepy." Chaeyoung said while rubbing her eyes.

"Come on let me put you to sleep." Mina helped Chaeyoung laid down. As they laid down, Mina brought Chaeyoung in her arms. Chaeyoung nuzzled her nose on Mina's shirt, feeling comfortable.

I feel home again. Chaeyoung thought.

Mina started patting Chaeyoung's back while humming. Not long after, Chaeyoung fell asleep.

Mina carefully let go of Chayeoung and replaced herself with a pillow. She carefully stood up and planted a soft kiss on Chaeyoung's forehead, resulting in the latter to smile. Mina smiled and went out of the room quietly.

Mina found someone sitting at the balcony and decided to check who it is.

"Aunty?" Mrs. Son turned her head back and saw Mina. She gave Mina a smile and gestured her to sit beside her.

"Where's Chaeyoung?" Mrs. Son asked.

"She's sleeping." Mrs. Son nodded. It was silent after that. 

"You know, the past months, I was so scared." Mrs. Son said. Mina turned to Mrs. Son who was still looking at the view.

"Chaeyoung slowly slipped out of our hands. She was so ill, mentally and physically. I didn't know what to do. She kept isolating herself and will do things I never expect my bubbly daughter will do. It was torture seeing her like that."

"Aunty... I'm sorry."

"Why are you saying sorry?"

"I'm the cause of it." Mina almost teared up.

"No you're not. I already have the idea that it was linked to you that's why Chaeyoung was being like that. You are her main source of happiness and love, but suddenly you disappeared. But I'd never thought that it was your fault.... Mina... you love my daughter right?" Mrs. Son averted her eyes towards Mina who was shocked at her question. Mina sighed and slowly nodded.

"I knew you love her. It was obvious you know. I just don't know why my daughter can't see it."

"But because of this love, she almost disappeared. If only I didn't let these feelings go more deeper, this wouldn't have happened."

"Don't say that. When it comes to love, it's really hard to control our feelings. If you fall deeper, then you fall deeper." Mrs. Son took a hold of Mina's hand and continued.

"Thank you for loving my daughter. I'm so happy that my daughter is loved by a person with a beautiful heart like you, Mina."

By that, Mina couldn't control her tears anymore. Mrs. Son brought Mina to hug.

"I know it hurts. I understand the pain you are feeling right now."

"Why can't she love me back aunty?" Mina asked while still crying.

"I don't know about that honey. But one thing I know is that you are the most special person in Chaeyoung's life." Mrs. Son slowly let go of the hug and held Mina's hand.

"Love comes naturally Mina. The right time will come and you will get the love you deserve."

"If love didn't work this time, then take a rest from it and focus on yourself more and wait for the love to find its gravity and fall on you."
