Chapter 19

Third pov

The two went inside Mina's apartment and settle on the couch. None of them utter a word for 5 minutes. Both of them find the atmosphere awkward.

Mina glanced at Chaeyoung who is fidgeting her fingers. Mina decided to broke the silence.

"Uhmm should we eat the cake you bought?"

"Oh ri-right, I-I'll go prepare it." Chaeyoung was about to stand up when Mina stopped her.

"No, I'll do it." Chaeyoung nodded while Mina went to the kitchen to get some plates and utensils.

Mina's pov

We were eating the cake she bought in silence. I don't know I just can't say a word to her. I felt guilty for avoiding her.

"You know, yesterday was very boring." My thoughts were cut when she suddenly spoke.

"I tried to play games to keep myself from getting bored, eat foods, watch movies, but... nothing helps. I tried to think what I did wrong for you to ignore me. Call me a clingy friend but I just get used to you being by my side always. You spoiled me too much." She chuckled but there is something in her voice.... did I hurt her?

"Look, I don't know what I did. So please, please tell me so I can correct it." She looked at me with teary eyes. Seeing her like this hurts me more.

I walked up to her and sat beside her. I held her hand and look straight into her eyes. Those eyes that are too blind to see me. But seeing those eyes in pain hurts me more.

I pulled her into a hug which she responded immediately. I can hear her sobs so I rub her back to soothe her.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you will be this hurt. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm sorry." She didn't say anything to me but just hugged me tighter.

We were in that hug for minutes. I was stroking her hair to calm her down and it worked. After some time, I looked down at her and saw her sleeping already.

She must've not slept well yesterday because of me.

I carefully carry her to my room and placed her on my bed. I went to the bathroom to change into my pajamas.

I laid down beside her carefully. She then opened her eyes and hugged me.

"Did I wake you up?" I felt her shook her head. She then looked at me.

"Why aren't you sleeping?"

"I was about to. Come on let's sleep." I fixed my position so she can hug me comfortably.

"Goodnight Mina."

"Goodnight Chaeng."

After a few minutes, she was already sleeping. I smiled looking at her. How I wish I can always hug her like this.

"There's a part of me that wants to let you go that's why I tried ignoring you. I thought I was already falling out of love that's why I tried to ignore you... to let myself fall out of love. But you always makes it hard for me not to."

"Looks like I'll still keep on loving you without you loving me back. But I'm okay with that, as long as we are fine." I kissed her forehead and drifted off to sleep.
