Chapter 16

Jihyo's pov

"You know, you looked so obvious out there." I chuckled at Mina and joined her watching the beautiful night sky.

"It doesn't matter anyway. She won't notice it." I averterd my eyes from the sky and looked at her. She is smiling as she said that yet I know there is something beneath that smile.

I have a very strong bond with Mina. I've spent most of my time with her. We play games, bicker around, and hang out whenever we have time. She is like a sister to me.

I treasure her a lot. I hate seeing her in pain, but this pain of hers is something I can't heal nor stop. I can only help her lessen it.

"Why are you still holding on?"

"I don't know. There is something about her that is making me love her more."

"But she can't love you back and you are hurting from that."

"I know. It's not her fault though. I'm the one responsible for my own pain. Because I chose to love someone who can't love me back."

"You deserve the whole world Mina. You deserve all the love. You are beautiful inside and outside. People are just too blind to see that. And I guess that includes her."

"What will I do without you?" I smiled and held her hands.

"You can always come to me. I'm ready to listen to you. You can share everything to me and I'll understand it all."

"Thank you." She hugged me then I felt my eyes started to get teary. After a few minutes we pulled away from each other's embrace.

"How about you? How's your love life?" Her question got me off guard.

"The skies are not on my side when it comes to that." We laughed at the same time.

"Don't worry, someday the right person will come."

"Why is that person so late? I'm tired of going on blind dates." I laid on my back and put my hands on the back of my head.

"I know right, such a tardy person." Mina then joined me.

"I'm waiting for a shooting star to come." Mina said as she traced the stars on the night sky.

"Do you think our wish will come true if we wish when a shooting star comes?"

"I don't know. Let's just try. We won't lose anything anyways if we try."

"That's true."

We were silent for the next 20 minutes.

It's just us looking at the sky letting the cold wind embrace our lonely hearts.

We didn't utter any words to each other because we didn't have to. It seems like silence can connect both of us.

After a few more minutes a shooting star came. We both closed our eyes and stated our wish.

I wish for mine and Mina's happiness.

After wishing, I looked at Mina still with her eyes closed. She's probably wishing a lot of stuffs.

"You're done? It seems like your wish is as long as a story." She lightly slapped my arms and I just chuckled at her.

"Hope it will come true."

"Yeah I hope so."

I hope we can soon find our happiness. Find the right person. Find peace. I hope someday we can smile from true happiness.

We looked at each other and smiled. She is my best friend, my sister. I know she is just hiding behind her mask. I know everything about her even if she won't tell me.

That's why I promised to help her. I promised to love her because that's what she deserves. She deserves a love of a family. A love of a friend. A love of someone who will she be with for the rest of her life.

"I'll always be here for you Mina. I'm always here as your friend and as your sister." We both smiled at each other.

Under the night sky, we share the same problems. Share the same pain. Share the same love for each other.

I'm not scared of not having someone who will be with me for the rest of my life, because I have her, my best friend. I know we won't leave each other.

We are each other's treasure that we will keep and treasure for the rest of our life.

I'll treasure this friendship of ours Mina. I promise you.
