Chapter 33

Third pov

After that time when Chaeyoung and Irene went to a cafe, they have been meeting each other almost every day for weeks now.

They got closer and more comfortable with each other. There were even times when they will have a sleepover at each other's house alternately. With that, Chaeyoung likes Irene more than before.

As with Mina, she was busy with her school works so she doesn't have that much time to have fun. Mina also noticed how Chaeyoung and Irene got closer. Because of that, she decided to draw a line between Chaeyoung and her.

She doesn't hug her always as she used to do. She always tried to stop herself from holding the girl's hand. The way she talks to her also changed. They rarely meet too.

"I miss her." Mina sighed. She just got done doing her project and decided to rest for a while. She wants to call Chaeyoung, but she thought that Chaeyoung was with Irene again, and she didn't want to disturb them.

It had been days since they have seen each other. Even in school, they rarely meet because Mina was busy with her school works, so she would eat lunch in her classroom, and after class, they will go home in their own homes without seeing each other.

Mina's pov

It's been 3 days since I last saw you. Since I heard your voice. I want to think that you are missing me too, but you just make me believe that you don't.

Yes, It's been 3 days since I saw Chaeyoung. 3 days without receiving any calls or messages from her. I'm not worried anymore if she's sick, because that's what I thought last 2 weeks.

I tried calling Chaeyoung, but she won't answer my calls. I sent a lot of messages to her but she wouldn't reply even just for once. I got so worried, so I decided to go to their house. I drove as fast as I could.

What if she's sick? What if something bad happened to her?

I'm so angry at myself for focusing on my studies more.

When I arrived at their house, I was greeted by her mom.

"Mina!" Aunty hugged me as soon as she saw me.

"Come inside." I went inside and tried to look for Chaeyoung, but she wasn't there.

"Aunty, where is Chaeyoung?" I asked her.

"Oh, she went out with Irene a few hours ago."

"Oh... I just got worried because I didn't hear anything from her for 4 days."

"Really? That's strange of her. She isn't busy for the past 4 days. It is either she's in her room or with Irene."

"Oh, probably she's always busy hanging out with Irene so she didn't notice my calls and texts." I fake laughed.

After some time, I left their house with sadness. I'm such a fool.

After that time, I decided to draw a line between us to know my place as her best friend only.

It hurts knowing that she is slowly drifting away from me. Day by day, it felt like she is getting further.

These past weeks, If it hadn't been for Jihyo, I would be alone in my apartment while crying every night. Jihyo always comes to my apartment to help me with my school works. She would bring food to cheer me up. She would cook meals for me so I won't skip them. She would hold me when I broke down.

Jihyo was always there for me during those weeks of seeking someone who doesn't even miss me and will never be mine.

I am very thankful to Jihyo. She became my strength during those weeks. She became my light. If it wasn't for her, I would probably be in the darkness right now. I am very grateful to have someone like her.

But even though Jihyo made me feel happy during those weeks, I can't help but get sad every time I think of Chaeyoung.

I badly want to see her. I want to hear her voice. I want to hold her hand. I want to hug her. I want to do all of it, but how can I do that when someone is already doing them for her?
