Third pov

"You're such a fool!" Mina said to herself as she walked away from Chaeyoung.

Mina couldn't stop her tears because of the sudden confession she had done. Now, she couldn't face Chaeyoung anymore, thinking that Chaeyoung would not want her around anymore.

Just like Chaeyoung, she kept on walking without knowing where to go, until a car stopped by.

Mina stopped walking and looked at the car.

"Mina?" A voice called.

Mina was so broken that she didn't respond to the person who called her.

"Why are here walking alone at night?"

"Alone..." Mina uttered.

"Yeah, I'm always alone. Stop asking like you cared about me and go on with your life." Mina replied and continued walking, but was stopped when the person held her wrist and brought her inside the car.

Mina didn't have the energy to protest so she let herself be dragged in the car. Besides, it is her mom anyways. She didn't want to go because she knew that when they are together, they will always end up fighting.

"Why do you look like that?" Her mom asked.

"It's so obvious that you don't know how to be a mom. A real mom would understand why their daughter looks like this." Mina replied as she try to stop her tears from falling.

They arrived at her mom's house. Mina went to the balcony right away to have some time alone.

"I just broke our friendship." She smiled bitterly.

"Why? Why did you have to choose her? Why did you choose to love her?" Mina held her chest and let her tears fall.

"It hurts to let her go. I want to move on. I want to erase these feelings. For once, I want to think of my feelings. But why can't you let me. Why can't you let her go?!" Mina asked her own heart.

"Someone... someone please hold me."

"Someone please help me."

"Someone please make the pain go away."

"Someone.... please... love me."

Mina broke down, hugging herself. Comforting herself. Alone.

What Mina didn't know, was someone was watching her from afar. Her mother.

Mina's mother cried watching her daughter broke down while comforting herself alone.

"I'm such a terrible mother."

Mina and her mother aren't close. You wouldn't even think that they are a family from how they treat each other.

Mina doesn't even call her own mother "mom" because she thinks her mother doesn't deserve it. Mina's mother also hides that she has a daughter from the people.

Her mom went closer to her. Mina didn't notice it until her mother called her.

"Mina..." Mina lifted her head and saw her mother. She didn't have the strength to stand up and walk away.

"Just go away. Leave me alone!" Mina said and hide herself more. She was expecting her mother to walk away but then she felt arms being wrapped around her. Her mother hugged her... for the first time.

"You're not alone. I'm here. I'm sorry." Her mother said and hugged her daughter tightly.

When her mother hugged her, she couldn't stop herself from crying more. She felt weak, but somehow she felt peace, because that is all she needs. A mother's hug.

Mina broke down in her mother's arm until she fell asleep.

"Crying doesn't fit you my beautiful daughter." Her mother smiled and carry her to a bedroom.

She carefully placed her daughter on the bed and sat beside her.

"I know, I am a terrible mom. I'm sorry for letting you feel I don't love you. I was just scared of losing you."

That's right, Mina's mother purposely let herself be a terrible mother to Mina even if she didn't want to, because whenever she showed her love to someone important, they will leave her, just like what her husband and parents did.

Her mom had loved her husband to the fullest, but in the end, he left her and Mina. Her mom also loved her parents, even if she was suffering from her parents harsh words towards her. She loved them, but in the end, they just left her alone in the house without saying a word.

That's why she decided to stop loving someone. Afraid that they will just leave her. She thought that it is better to not love someone than being hurt of loving someone, then they will just leave and hurt you.

"Your dad and grandparents left me even if I loved them so much, so I thought if I showed I love you, you will also leave me. I just don't want to lose someone important to me again. You are the greatest blessing I had received in my life. I love you. I'm sorry." Her mother kissed her in the forehead and quietly leave the room.

"I love you too... mom." Mina said before falling asleep again.

Mina grew up not feeling a mother's love. Mina's mother also did not feel a daughter's love. They don't treat each other as a family. They don't show each other that they love each other, but deep inside their hearts, they love one another.
