It was late, very late. But Adrien was still awake. Why? Because there was an akuma attack. As usual he'd rushed out as cat noir to help save the day but as usual he'd found ladybug was with another hero. Purple tigress was tonight's pick of a sidekick.

And again as usual... he didn't even get to fight. It was all over by the time he'd gotten their attention, all he'd been able to do was help some civilians get to safety. Which was good of course, but he didn't even get to use his cataclysm or even TALK to ladybug. Until now, after the fight.

"Oh cat noir you're here?" Ladybug said, swinging down from the yo-yo string.

"Yeah, I uh- I evacuated civilians" he replied.

"Oh thanks for that! That akuma was one hell of a fight. Purple tigress is picking up on this whole superhero thing really fast!"

She is huh? Looks like there's a new cat sidekick around.

"Wow that's great! Well done tigress" he replied, trying to sound optimistic.

Of course he was glad she was getting better at her powers and fighting. And he understood sometimes other powers were needed in fights, but the fact they didn't even notice he was there until after the fight made him loose hope on the ladybug and cat duo he and ladybug once were.

"Ah! I'm going to transform back! Sorry Cat Noir we'll have to talk another time, bye!" Tigress said before rushing off.

"Oh uh- yeah bye!" Cat replied.

Beeping from ladybugs earrings meant she'd have to blast off too. Just as he thought, not even two minutes of talking to ladybug.

"I better go too, but cat are you ok?" Ladybug asked.

"Y-yeah it's just super late and I'm really tired" he replied.

"Make sure you get some sleep ok? A tired kitty can't fight very well. Bug out!"

With that she was off, leaving cat alone again. And yet another fight was done without him, it seems he just wasn't needed anymore. At this point he wasn't even sad just... disappointed. His once bursting feelings for ladybug had melted into that of a betrayal almost. He was happy for the times they had together, but it was almost like she was a different person now. Well, she was the guardian... but still, it felt like she wasn't even batting an eye at him anymore...

Moping his way back home he jumped through the window and de-transformed flopping back into bed, having been asleep when the akuma hit. He just wanted to fall back asleep and rest a bit, he was sore today and emotionally overwhelmed. Just as he was about to fall back asleep, he was awoken by a familiar yet terrifying sound.

"ADRIEN!"

His father.

Getting up, he dragged himself downstairs. What did he want this late at night.

"Yes?" He yawned, finding his dad at the computer.

"What did I say about your grades?"

His blood ran cold, they were back already? He knew this would end badly.

"I uh-"

"C's? You've dropped THAT far down? That's it. I'm taking you out of school. Clearly those friends of yours are a distraction" Gabriel snapped.

"FATHER YOU CAN'T-"

"And no more playing in that band! They're a bad influence. I bet it's that dyed hair boy..."

As if he wasn't already panicked enough, being out of kitty section meant not seeing Luka...

"FATHER NO! I'LL BRING THEM UP I JUST NEED MORE TIME TO STUDY!" He freaked.
