Chapter 6 | theory time

"We can't just sit by and do nothing! That's our friend who could be in danger!" Nino exclaimed.

"He could be hurt!" Marinette added.

"Or sick!" Alya jumped in.

"For once I actually agree with you losers. We need to find Adrikens!" Chloe joined.

While most of Adriens class as well as other friends he had chatted over the situation in the park by the school, Luka sat off to the side in silence thinking deeply.

He knew something was wrong. After his last chat with Adrien and his interview with the police he knew something bad happened at home. This wasn't a kidnapping, it was a planned escape. And he's used his cat noir powers to get out avoiding security cameras by going on rooftops. Of course he couldn't mention that last part to anyone, and due to him having to stay silent about knowing the identities of the two main heroes, he couldn't exactly question Ladybug... about the last time she saw cat noir either. Not even while she was Marinette because if he did then she'd know that he know both their identities.

Damnit wishmaker... this knowing identity thing comes with strings.

"You good?"

Snapping from his daze, Luka looked up to see his sister sitting beside him. The rest of the class still talking about the situation around them.

"This is so... off. It's not a kidnapping, he ran away I know it" Luka said.

"How do you know?" Juleka asked.

Luka thought for a moment and stood up, clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention.

"GUYS! Listen up for a second" he said.

The group turned to face him, all interested in what he had to say.

"I was the last person outside his household to see Adrien. I think I know what happened"

Of course, the group became intrigued. All chattering at him about what he knew.

"Ok ok! Quiet down. Here's the thing, when I dropped him home yesterday he looked sad so I asked him what was wrong, and he mentioned that he was tired is his dad controlling his life-" Luka began.

"Everyone knows his dad is strict, that's not out if the ordinary" Nino jumped in.

"Hang on there's more. When I was questioned the police officer said that his dad was suspicious of ME because he thought I was a bad influence, but he said that I wasn't suspicious at all because all of you said I was a good person right?"

He got a murmur of 'yes' and 'that's right' in response.

"The cop also said that his dad was vague about what happened last night... I think that Adrien finally snapped at his dad, maybe told him something that his dad didn't approve of and in response Adrien felt unsafe and he purposely ran away. Think about it, he disappeared so perfectly and there's no signs of it being a kidnapping so it's almost like he PLANNED to run away and was just waiting for the right moment. I think that he was unsafe in his household so he ran away in a planned escape and then his dad tried to shift the blame onto me. And when then the cops said I wasn't suspicious he diverted to the kidnapping theory. His dad has something to do with it" Luka explained.

It was silent for a moment as everyone thought about the theory, one by one the dots began to connect and it sounded more and more likely.

"You mean... his dad was abusing him?" Alya asked.

"I think so, I don't know the full extent of it but if he ran away to escape it then it must have been bad" Luka replied.

"We know his dad is strict but is he really capable of being abusive?" Nino added.
