Chapter 35 | lies

Sitting by the canals with a few friends was his Luka was spending his time after school today, the band was there, they'd gotten Nath and Marc to design an album cover for them so they'd come along too. And of course Marinette tagged along as usual.

It was a rather creative day altogether, working on songs and such. Kitty section had kind of blown up recently, since Adrien was in the band before he left and his case had gotten international attention. Some if Adriens more hardcore fans were actually following Kitty section now in hopes that he'd come back to the band when he was found. While the band was grateful for the new supporters, they weren't taking hot band mates disappearance lightly. This new song Luka had started was dedicated to Adrien, and the band as well as Nath and Marc were helping.

The band helped with the music and lyrics, Nath and Marc drew up designs for an album cover and Marinette was pitching in with both. Their latest project was going well, and they hoped their fans liked it.

While Luka and now Marinette held onto the secret they knew where Adrien was until it was safe for him to return, the others didn't. So they'd had to pretend they'd had no contact with him, although pretending came easy to them as superhero's having to hide their identities.

"I know, we can put stickers around the edges of the cover to make it look like a scrapbook. Like we're looking back at pictures of our missing friend" Marinette suggested.

"That's good, we can fill this gap in the corner with that... did we even bring stickers?" Marc replied.

"Check my folder" Nathaniel added.

The album cover was coming along well, and upon finding some stickers in Nath's file they were able to finish it off by covering the gaps with them.

"Luka how's this?" Marinette asked.

Looking over at the cover as they placed the stickers onto it, he smiled liking the results.

"It looks good, maybe we can also add some newspaper clippings from the case? That way we'd be spreading the word of it more. Getting more eyes on the case is important" he suggested.

"Hmm, I'll go through the stack of newspapers at home and see if I can add some later tonight" Nathaniel replied.

"I'll leave a gap for that here then, looks like we're almost done with this" Marc added.

The mood was fun, the group was finding joy in the sad circumstances. Helping each other through it and being creative in the process, they were all art kids after all it came naturally to them. But unfortunately that mood would only be ruined to Luka and Marinette...

"Hey guys!"

Upon hearing that voice again they both sighed. Fucking Lila...

She got some hellos in return as she walked up to see what was going on. Bad timing too, of course she had to show up when they were doing things surrounding Adrien, of course there's be lies involved.

"What are you doing?" She asked.

"Making a song for Adrien to get more eyes on the case" Rose replied.

"Aww that's sweet! You know I could ask Jagged stone to help, I know him personally"

Luka glared at her, did this girl not know that Jagged was literally his dad? Jueleka gave her bother a slightly confused look. Since when did this girl know their dad? Maybe she'd catch onto the lies too soon, Lila couldn't exactly lie about someone's dad right in front of them.

"With all due respect Lila we're doing this on our own as a labour of love" Marinette passive-aggressively replied.

Just from the glare Lila gave her Luka could tell she was annoyed at Marinette already, but she played it off.
