Chapter 55 | fix it

"If we can get the miraculous, we can fix things. We can make a world without ladybug and a world where I'm in control of my own life. Gabriel was an idiot to hide them knowing full well that we knew his identity"

"We need to create a situation that'll put Viperion in a place were he can be akumatized. Cat Noir would want to save his boyfriend by any means necessary wouldn't he?"

"You have the right idea"

It was late, it was quiet, it was a normal night. A normal night that was in for a major shock. As Paris slept, someone out there was upset and a prime target for an akuma...

It'd been months since hawkmoth last attacked. And with Gabriel arrested the heroes weren't expecting anything anytime soon, so tonight caught them off guard.

A massive boom could be heard from outside, making Luka jump out of his skin and awaken from his slumber.

"What the-"

Looking out the window revealed chaos in the streets. A familiar kind, what seemed to be a floating person with some kind of weapon zipped through the streets.

"An akuma? Someone has the miraculous? Sass wake up we gotta fix this" Luka said, transforming and jumping from the window.

He was still a bit tired, not having woken up properly yet. As he chased down the akuma victim he tried to get an idea of what was going on. It seemed their weapon that resembled as gavel could turn people against each other, friends and lovers in the streets were arguing and throwing all kind of things at each other.

"Lu- Viperion! Over here!"

That was a familiar voice. Skidding to a stop, he turned to find his cat boyfriend a top a nearby roof. He rushed over and pulled him into a hug.

"You ok?" He asked.

"I'm fine, just still half asleep. I just had the worst realisation as soon as I saw the akuma victim" Adrien puffed, out of breath from running.

Perfectly timed, the zipping sound of ladybugs yo-yo could be heard approaching.

"Oh perfect, whole team is here" Luka said.

Ladybug landed next to the boys, also looking tired and caught off guard.

"What the hell happened? There hasn't been an attack in months and someone suddenly has the butterfly?" She asked.

"That's what I just realised. We couldn't find it anywhere in the house right? But my aunt and Felix had been staying there at the same time Gabriel was arrested! I doubt it'd be my aunt but Felix..." Adrien explained.

"Felix has it? Damnit we should have seen that coming. He probably knew where Gabriel would hide it since he's fully aware he's a senti human and knows everything about the hawkmoth plots" Luka added.

"Why would he want to be hawkmoth though? And does he have the peacock too? It doesn't seem like he's using it if he does" Marinette asked.

"Let's fix this akuma situation and talk about this after"

Agreeing to deal with the chaos first, they jumped into action chasing after the akuma and figuring out where the akumatized object was. What they found strange was how much they were targeting Luka, it was like they didn't even care for ladybug and cat noir and only tossed attacks at Viperion. But as this was likely Felixs first ever akuma victim it was fairly easy to beat. It seemed to be more of a test of sorts.

The victim ended up being a civilian who had a falling out with a friend and wanted revenge. But after this little scene they realised it was better to just drop the situation and move on. Better than getting akumatized.

And so the heroes re-assembled at the top of the Eiffel Tower out of sight to give their kwami some rest.

"Man I haven't fought in so long I'm a bit rusty" Adrien sighed.

"Are your legs ok?" Luka asked.

"They ache a bit but I'm fine. I'll get more resilient the more we fight"

They stood on a circle, the cold breeze making them a little chilly in their pyjamas.

"Ok... so this is probably Felix? Why haven't he and his mum gone back to England?" Marinette asked.

"Since Gabriel is arrested, my mother is gone and Nathalie isn't with the company they're the ones who get to run the company now. I'm too young so they couldn't give it to me, it went to my aunt" Adrien replied.

"So they're in Paris for the foreseeable future?"

"Yeah. At least that's what I heard through court and stuff"

They'd deduced one thing for sure: Felix had the miraculous. Most likely both but since he'd not used them before this was merely a little test run.

"What was up with him targeting Luka though, they practically ignored us" Marinette asked.

"Maybe Felix wants the snake miraculous? Either that or the akuma victim was the one going after him because of favouritism or something" Adrien asked.

"Oh good I'm not the only one that noticed I was being targeted. I guess unless it happens again it could just be the akuma victim and not Felix. We'll have to see I guess, I can outrun a few akuma attacks don't worry" Luka added.

There was still one question though. Why? Why did Felix want to be the new hawkmoth?

"Why is Felix using the miraculous, didn't he not like Gabriel? Why would he continue?" Marinette asked.

"It'd be for his own goal, not Gabriel's, they never got along so there's no way it'd be in his behalf. What that goal is... I don't know..." Adrien replied.

"If he has the peacock too we can expect a senti monster to pop up... or maybe not since he is a senti human, he might have different ideas on senti... uh... senti things. Like snapping them from existence is literally murder since they have their own mind and goals and stuff. He as a senti human might be more inclined to be be careful with it" Luka suggested.

There was a worry that Felix might try and snap Adrien in the back of his mind. But as long as the amok ring stayed with Luka, there was no way he could. Although it did serve as a risk to figuring out Adrien is cat noir. Felix knows Adrien is senti, and if he has the peacock then he can feel the presence of a senti... if he put two and two together...

Adrien sighed, yet another member of his family ended up evil. He wasn't surprised, just disappointed.

"I don't know what his goal it but the fact we're both senti and he has the peacock makes me worry. We better approach this hawkmoth with extra caution. No telling what he has planned knowing this information..."
