Amidst the pandemic, you returned home to take care of your elderly parents in (your home state) and hadn't seen him in 5 months because you couldn't fly home. You surprised him at the academy when you were able to travel.
Diego: "Diego, you really need to leave the house."
"Fuck off, Luther. What I need is some space."
Luther rolled his eyes and leaned against the door frame, "I'm sure Y/N would want you to leave the house at least a few times."
Diego threw a pillow and Luther ducked. It ended up smacking you right in the face.
"Get out Luther!"
"Ah! Diego seriously!? I come to surprise you and this is what I get!?"
Diego shot up from the bed and stood frozen. He didn't know if he should cry or hug you or get excited. He felt overwhelmed with emotion.
"Y-Y/N?"
You smiled, "Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna come hug me?"
Luther moved out into the hallway and Diego ran to your arms. He picked you up and you wrapped yourself around him like a koala.

"I missed you." He croaked out. You felt your shoulder get wet.
"Diego are you crying?"
"LUTHER NOW IS NOT THE TIME."
Luther: "Okay, get up right now."
"No, I'm staying right here, Allison."
Allison scoffed and hit him with a pillow from the couch, "You can't just sit here and eat marshmellows all day. Again!"
Luther growled and stood up.
"Yay! You're up."
"She's right, hun. Marshmellows aren't a healthy meal."

Luther spun around and his jaw dropped. He hadn't seen you in so long that he stood in place. He wanted to hug you but he was scared to hurt you. Obviously nothing had changed.
