there's glitter on the floor after the party

candle wax and polaroids on the hardwood floor
you and me forevermoreLuther couldn't tell up from down, left from right, his head was spinning. He had thrown a birthday party for all the siblings and they all got hammered. He was pretty sure he could smell vomit and spilled jack daniels on the floor. It made his stomach churn but he couldn't get up. Something, rather someone, was laying on top of him, you.
He didn't remember how you two ended up cuddling on the couch or what he drank last night. All Luther knew was that he was dreading cleaning up the mess left behind from the party. The sequins and confetti were going to be a pain to clean up because they stick to everything. He would have to worry about it later because he found his eyes on you.
You were in a party outfit, some glitter still lingering in your hair and on your clothes. You were missing your shoes and your hair was sticking up in all different directions. If you saw yourself, you would cringe, but Luther found you to be beautiful. You looked so calm and comfortable as you laid there.
His eyes trailed to the table in front of the couch. Some photos were laying there along with a few solo cups. Luther then remembered he brought his camera down for pictures some time last night during the party. He wanted to look at them but he didn't want to wake you up. Instead, he was able to see one photo he took last night of the two of you.
You had the biggest smile on your face, a solo cup in your hand. He had his arm around you as he kissed your cheek. You looked etheral, he looked like a complete buffoon, but it represented your relationship perfectly. Luther loved you and this candid moment really proved that.
He had tons of polaroids of you and him, and a lot of you alone. He had some in his wallet and some stuck to the fridge. He had a mini photo album he started so he could see you when you weren't around. You hated it when he took your picture when you weren't ready but he always took pictures when he found you to be most beautiful.
Luther had a habit of leaving these polaroids out, not on purpose, but he left them lay. Your guests always questioned why he took so many pictures of you and he always said beautiful things deserved to be captured and admired forever. As cheesy as it was, it's how he really felt about you.
He thought you were most beautiful asleep because you looked so peaceful. He loved how your nose scrunched when you yawned and how your mouth twitched as you dreamed. He loved how your face relaxed and that you seemed to be resting well. Luther just thought you were gorgeous at peace.
"Oh god...oh my head..." You mumbled, rubbing your forehead. "Turn off the ride."
"Honey you're not on a ride." Luther whispered, moving your hair from your eyes.
"Then make the room stop spinning." You grumbled, burying your face in his chest.
"I'll get you some asprin and water as soon as I can stand up straight." He promised you.
The vomit and spilled jack daniels could wait until later. He had other priorities at the moment.
