Meeting Grace

i decided i'm gonna feed you guys things i'm sure we all would've liked to have seen.

i hope you're all doing well! what's been going on? any fun life updates? i'm officially a college alumni!

It was a 2 am phone call Luther got. Diego was hysterical, Lila was yelling at him, he thought something horrible had happened. No, it was just Lila going into labor. Naturally, upon hearing his brother freak out, he started freaking out and then he was able to understand him.

Luther met Diego and Lila up at the hospital. It was clear Lila was in pain and Diego looked like he was about to be sick. Her water had broken but she wasn't far enough in dialation to start pushing. Diego decided it'd be best to wait to call the rest of the family until the baby was officially here.

"Can I get you something?" Luther asked Lila, watching her shift in the bed. Diego had gone to the bathroom.

"For the fifth time in two minutes, no." She replied, annoyance in her voice as she tried to get comfortable.

Luther stood up from his chair and wordlessly started to help her get comfortable. It was weird to him that this woman tried to kill him and his family, and now he was helping her get comfortable in a hospital bed during labor.

"Better?" He asked.

"Much, thank you." Lila said, closing her eyes. "Weird innit?"

"What is?" He asked, sitting back in his chair.

"How I went from wanting to murder you to you helping me during labor." She laughed, holding her stomach. "Oh fucks sake."

"What?" Luther asked, alarmed by her tone.

"Ah! Go find that piece of shit that did this to me!" She winced, holding her stomach.

Luther quickly ran out of the room and alerted the nurse. He ran down to the men's bathroom and opened the door, finding Diego dry heaving over one of the toilets.

"Hey! Hey no time for that! We gotta go." Luther stated, grabbing Diego's collar.

"I can't-I can't do this man." Diego admitted, heaving again.

"What do you mean?" Luther asked.

"I'm about to be a dad...what if-what if I turn out like him?" He admitted, running a hand over his face.

Luther looked at his brother with sympathy. He understood Diego's fear, all the siblings did. Diego tried so hard to not be their father and this is his chance to prove he won't be like him. Now it's becoming real and Luther could tell his brother was scared.

It wasn't that Diego changed his mind, he didn't at all, he was excited. When Lila first started showing, he couldn't get enough. He loved rubbing the baby bump, talking to the baby, feeling the baby kick, and watching the bump grow everyday. He loved the glow it gave Lila and he loved picking out the name of the baby. A girl, Grace, a boy, Stanley.

He remembered telling the family that Lila was pregnant. Luther cried, Allison and Klaus were already planning the shower, Viktor seemed happy and hugged the couple, Ben gave a small congrats, and Five congratulated them on the debt a child would bring, but appeared happy otherwise.

They decided not to find out the gender of the baby and instead wanted to be surprised. When the baby shower came, thrown by Klaus and Allison, it was the first time it had sunk in that this was really happening. Sure the ultra sounds hit him like a ton of bricks, but now actually preparing for the birth it hit him.
