Things remained awkward between us the next morning. He had stayed with me well into the night and early morning, holding me whilst I sat on his lap. We didn't talk anymore, both of us lost in our own thoughts and concerns as the tv played in the background. When I awoke the next morning I had a meeting with a doctor in medbay which passed painfully slowly. It was a mental health check-up concerning my nightmares. Not wanting to worry anyone more, I decided to tell them they were gone for the most part. It wasn't exactly a lie. They occurred less often, and were affecting me way less. When they asked me about other things I would then outright lie. It wasn't the smartest thing to do, but I had convinced myself I was doing better than I was. It was well over six months since I picked up the dagger from beneath my pillow, so I told myself it didn't matter how much it called to me. My anxiety was rising but only over the situation with Loki and when the machine was on, so it didn't matter. It wasn't smart, but it was easy. Don't cause a fuss, I told myself. They've already gone out of their way for you. The doctor seemed happy enough, and the main doctor I saw seemed happy I wasn't drinking myself to death anymore. They did, however, question many of the bruises on my body. Blue, purple and yellow scattered across my body, mainly on my chest and thighs. I tried to play it off as an occupational hazard, but I think my blush gave me away. Still, they didn't seem to be concerned about it so sent me on my way.

Before changing I made sure to give myself a once over in the mirror, noticing just how many marks were scattered over my body, differing shades of bruises representing just how many times I'd found bliss. Perhaps they should have concerned me. Instead, I viewed them with pride and rising want. Shaking my head, I finished getting dressed and headed to the meeting room that was cleared out for our appointment. When there I realised Loki was already being fitted, a woman in a very low cut top on her knees before him and smiling up at him. I felt the heat in my cheeks instantly and my pulse quickened as my mood soured. I stood there as he smiled slyly down at her, and she blushed deeply at whatever had been said between them. I just about lost it, slamming the door slightly too loud behind me.

"Hope I'm not interrupting." I snapped, causing the woman to jump up and hurry away from him. I took in the sight of the blonde, all legs and makeup. She hadn't left very much to the imagination, her makeup and fake tan causing her to take on a slightly orange tone. Over her shoulder I saw Loki press his lips together to stifle a laugh, which is when I realised my shields had lowered in my annoyance. Frustrated, I raised them while cursing myself for my cattiness. In the corner another woman, somewhat dressed in what seemed like more practical clothes sketched on a tablet.

"Are you Kaya?" She muttered, never taking her eyes off of her tablet.

"Yes." Then she looked up, eying me up and down briefly before returning to her sketch.

"You're right, emerald will suit her nicely. Sylvia, take her measurements now, Mr. Laufeyson, you may change."

I stood up on the spare podium and waited for Sylvia to gather her stuff by me. All the while, I tried to firmly ignore the sight of Loki changing, and ignore the fact that Sylvia was blatantly staring at him.

"Not very professional, is it?" I hissed at her, quiet enough that the designer couldn't hear but loud enough to her due to her proximity. She apologised and cast her eyes down in embarrassment. Unfortunately, she wasn't the only one to hear it, and a deep quiet chuckle came from across the room. I mentally cursed myself again for my attitude, not fully understanding what was coming over me.

"Um... Miss, it's easier if you undress. Then I can put different bodices and underskirts on you." I rolled my eyes, but hurriedly stripped, grateful I was planning on training after, so I wasn't in any revealing underwear. Sylvia's breath hitched as she saw the marks across my body. Several lighter marks were half visible above my training bra, but the ones over my legs and bruises on my ass would have darkened by now. I smiled to myself, somewhat enjoying her sudden frightened state. At least now I knew she could never handle him in bed. I shook the jealous thought out of my head before reassuring her,
