"Summer!" Someone yelled from behind me, and suddenly Sloane was running into Jim's as I continued to stuff my mouth with the delicous fries I had come in every night for. Currently it was almost midnight and I had just closed up the salon like I had been doing everynight for about a week and a half. I was so tired, but I liked the feeling of it. Everyday I was too tired to think of anything but work, and eating. Until now when Sloane was in front of me as if she was about to ask me something.
"Summer, Summer!" She continued to yell, and holler. I groaned feeling glad the place was almost empty. Finally she was sitting next to me, and she had a strange smile on her face that I was wary of.
"Fuck. What?" I tossed another fry in mouth, and then without asking she took one off my plate without asking. She popped it in her mouth as I glared at her which she only ignored as she continued talking.
"I really, really need your help." She begged me.
"No." I instantly replied. I didn't know what she wanted, but I really just wanted to eat in peace and go back to Natasha's so that I could lay in a bed and stare at the wall until morning came. I still hadn't managed to get a full night of sleep. And everynight when I slept, it was barely an hour or two and then me alone with my thoughts for hours on end. And as always my thoughts would drift off to someone I wanted to forget...
"Please, please, please." Sloane tried to do a pouty look, but it came off as looking desperate and all I could was shake my head as I continued to eat. "Okay if you help me, I'll buy you a week's worth of fries."
That got my attention, I wasn't sure about much right now but I fucking lived for these fries. Eating them was like heaven for me. "Two weeks." I said. "Two weeks and I'll fucking agree." Sloane look offended I upped her offer, but sighed and nodded at me anyways.
"Fine, two fucking weeks of fries." She grumbled something else to herself, something I couldn't hear. I ignored it as she continued talking to me. "Okay, you remember my ex? Josh?" I nodded wondering where she was going with this. "So we've been kind of talking...and he says he wants to get back together."
"Okay..." I trailed off wondering where she was going with this. I seriously fucking hoped this wasn't her trying to get me to join in a three way. No way was two weeks of fries worth that. Not even three. Okay maybe four weeks of fries and I'd do it. No Summer your body is worth more than food, I told myself.
"Summer? Hello?" Sloane waved a hand in front of my face, and quickly I stared her down which made her stop. "Okay so my favor involves us following him. He says he's not with anyone else but I don't believe him and that's why I put a tracker on his phone."
"The fuck? You're serious?" She nodded and I groaned at her. "What the fuck is wrong with you?" Instead of looking offended, Sloane grinned at me and then asked the person behind the counter for a to-go box. "I thought you loved Daniel, why don't you ask him?"
"That's why I can't ask him." Sloane sighed and took the box from the server. "He'll freak out, and then we'll get in a big fight. He hates Josh and believes that I should drop him for good. That's why I have to be sure of him before I even talk to Daniel."
"Fucking fine, let's go." Sloane squealed excitedly and dumped my fries in the box. And then we were walking out, her car parked out front. She must have had this planned. "How did you know I would even say yes? Don't you have any other friends?"
This time she actually looked offended. "Yes, I have friends. They all hate Josh and none of them would agree to this crazy ass plan." She walked to the door and started to get in. "Did you want to drive?" I shook my head at her and climbed in the passenger seat.
