Erins Mother

I was sitting in my office typing away working on a case. The team outside doing their own research, Henry doing god knows what. I watch from the window as Erin gets a call before getting up going downstairs. I'm concerned yeah but choose to ignore it. Finishing up my files I grab what I need headed down myself walking up to the front desk. "How's that little family of yours going" Trudy asks not looking up from the paperwork before her "expanding everyday" she looks at me "Henry told me already I need to stop adding people" she laughs "bet he loves that" "he loves me" "so who is now apart of your family" "ok so you know Justin" she rolls her eyes gesturing for me to continue "well there Connor as well" "I remember Justin and him running up the halls as you brought Hank lunch or dropped stuff off" she smiles at the image of the two dark haired little young boys smiling brightly, their laughter bouncing off the halls. "Then there's Kelly" she nods remembering her friend with a teenage Kelly. "Erin obviously joined but Henry brought her in so apparently doesn't count" Trudy just laughs knowing what I was talking about. "I was good I didn't add anyone else to the family for a long time" Trudy just gives me a look "when in New York as you know I became a surgeon Will was there" "Halstead is in" she points upstairs causing me to nod "Yep he kinda filled a void considering Justin and Henry were in Jail still spoke to Connor and Kelly daily" she nods "then with Will came Jay or Jay on his own" I tilt my head confused "he didn't know I was so close to Will until a week ago but he joined the family as well" she nods "and I haven't exactly told Henry about Adam" Trudy looks co fused "as in Ruzek" I nod "met him when he was 17 his two years younger than Justin he joined as well" Trudy just laughs "that's going to be a fun conversation" "how am I meant to tell him now that he told me to stop expanding our family plus I couldn't say no to Adam" I look behind me seeing Erin end Henry in the office with bunny. The sight of her immediately makes me tense. "What's going on" "don't know she wanted Erin and when Hank saw he closed the door" I nod walking over opening the door making all attention turn to me "what's going on" "oh fantastic the one you wanted to be your mother is here" "at least she tried all you did was get high" Erin snapped "Erin leave" she looks at me like she was going to argue but sighed "I'm sure" I squeeze her arm as she leaves I watch her lean against trudys desk. Trudy instantly talking to her probably telling her about Adam and how I insist on adding to our family. I look over at bunny who looked angry. "You need to stay away from her" Bunny scoffs "she is my daughter" "some people shouldn't be parents and I can say with confidence that you are one of them" I walk out leaving Henry with her Erin races up the stairs after me. I enter my office sitting down at my desk. Erin enters a moment later closing the door behind her, sitting before me. "So Trudy told me how hank hand to tell you to stop adding to the family" I laugh "how many now" "seven including you" she nods "so he doesn't know about Adam how you share everything" "yeah well it never came up I was always busy with Justin you and everyone else. Then they got arrested and by time they got out I couldn't say anything or" "hank wouldn't let him in intelligence" Erin finishes I nod "well you should tell him before Trudy does" "tell me what" I let out a little scream putting my hand to my chest. When the hell did he enter the room. "Oh um I may have forgotten to tell you how Adam has been like a son to me since he was seventeen" he shakes his head "any other mystery children" he asks walking over to me leaning close "no but we should definitely invite everyone to dinner" I said smile "no I'm not having Ruzek in my house" he said straight away "ok but Connor has been there, same with Kelly and Erin here" I begin smirking "then it's Jay and Will" I point out now I was just right in front of him. I lean up kissing him "not in front of me" Erin yells racing out of the room "plus Ruzek isn't that bad he will make us laugh Jay Will as well Justin likes him as well" "so Justin knows" I nod "yeah Adam is two years younger than him" I right in front of him "I'm sorry I didn't tell you it was" "hard back then" I nod "then you and Justin went away and it kinda just got got swept away but literally" he nods "then you got out and all this start it was so quick you don't know how to move slowly" I playfully shove him he just smirks "I wanted him to get into intelligence because of him not because of me so I didn't tell you" "I don't pick my team based on who my wife likes" I smirk "you should I clearly have good taste" "do you now" "I picked you didn't I" I shove him causing him to laugh a sound that I love and no many get to hear. "Did Al know" I shook my head "he just knew that him and Justin were friends and I knew him he asked me when he realised which was a couple days after the introduction I told him he was a good kid not Justin's normal crowd" he nods "how did you keep Adam quiet the kid never shuts up" I smile "didn't have to he thought if you knew you wouldn't give him a chance if you knew" he nods glancing out of the room. "So dinner" he looks at me "I will consider it ok" he leans down and kisses me "well you should it would make me very happy and we all know you love my charming smile" he hums holding my face bring his face to mine kissing me passionately "I do love your charming smile just as much as I love you sparking eyes your contagious laugh should I go on" "I won't complain if you do" he kisses me again" I tap his chest stepping back "but I'm pretty sure they will go insane out there without and Erin knows we're in here don't think we want her telling Jay and Justin both of who will tell people and before we know it every first responder in Chicago will know that we were in an office together and not working" he nods "yeah we should probably go we got a case solve" he nods kissing me one last time before walking out leaving the door opened.
