Fear

I was with Adam much to Henry's dismay. Henry wanted me to go with him but he was talking to someone from his gentleman's club. I didn't care with who I only got in with like one person from club and it isn't the person. We were meant to be finding Henry Milligan. Or more like looking at his last known location, talking to the people. But truthfully we were just sitting at a cafe eating and talking.

My phone vibrated on the table bringing both our attention to it. I generally have my phone on silent, it is always touch my skin though so I know when I'm being called. I worried a lot about Sophie, Flynn, Justin and Lexi. But I couldn't have it on loud speaker because I worried a potential suspect would hear. I was generally afraid for Sophie every moment she wasn't with me. I was trusting a random stranger three days a week, Justin two days (he only works three days a week), however sometimes Justin only has her one day and I or someone else has her. I pick my phone up confused, it was school time and Justin was at work they besides Henry are the only ones who call me. I get even more confused but more concerned seeing Lexis name on the screen. I press the answer button "hello" I don't hear a reply but I do hear talking I jump up grabbing the keys, Adam somehow gets the message and jumps up as well. I run to the car jumping in putting the phone on speaker just in time for Adam to hear "you didn't tell anyone did you" "no no" I could hear just through her voice she was scared I press the mute button so they can hear us. "Get mouse to record the call" Adam nods "also get everyone to the school day it's an emergency it's Lexi" I put the car into drive just listen to Lexi her fear breaking my heart. I floor it as fast as I can.

I pull up to the school not caring how I park. I jump out of the car and go to run inside only to be stopped by Adam. "Hey hey we got to be carful I don't fancy getting killed by your husband or best friend" I know he was trying to waste time for them to get here but I wasn't waiting. "You either stand here and wait or come with me either way I'm going in" he sighs following close behind me as I walk through the school. Every classroom we past he flashed his badge telling the teachers to keep the kids inside and keep the door locked. Flynn jumps up "uncle Adam" he races over to the door "grandma" the kid was confused "stay here Flynn" Adam told him as I had already raced off trying to find Lexi. I could hear Adam behind me my eyes darting everywhere. I could hear Lexi begging him to stop.

I open the door to see Lexi laying on the desk with him on top. Lexi was begging him to stop. They were both in their own world. Lexis world of fear, his world of getting what he wants. I tackle him without hesitation sending us both the floor. I land funny on my shoulder sending a jolt of pain through my body. My moment of pain gives him an opportunity to get on top of me. He was stronger than me pining my hands above my head causing pain to throw through my body all over again. I start to panic but I can't let him know that. I swing by foot up towards his crutch, the moment my foot makes contact he doubles over. Adam comes over kicking him away. The man was furious. Lexi was sitting up in shock staring at her hands. I stand up groaning as I move my shoulder. Adam moves to the other side of him. He leans forward to try to get me, at the same time Adam punches him sending him stumbling towards me. He spins going to go after Adam but I crash into him sending the both of us into a wall. I have my arm around his neck holding him in place. I wanted to kill him but I knew that wasn't Justice enough. I slowly step back allowing Adam to get close to cuff him. However before either of us could react he grabs a pen stabbing it into my thigh. I stumble almost falling to the floor but quickly catch myself. Looking up Adam had the man pinned to the floor cuffing him. "You alright" I weakly nod limping over to Lexi. I touch her face causing her to flinch "her Lexi Lou it's me I got your call we're here" she takes a deep breath wrapping her arms around me. It was painful on my shoulder but I kept that hidden just allowing her to have a moment. "I don't want a memory of him I made my decision" she said fiercely shaking her head as she backs up from me I limp backwards allowing her to stand up. Lexi nestled into my side as I limp through the hall. Adam leading him out in cuffs. I limp my body in pain with every step I make. I see Flynn push he teacher out of the way coming over wrapping his arm around my other side. I use mainly Flynn to help me walk. "Don't you dare Adam" I say seeing the way he was looking at us "his cuffed" "I will cuff you if you give him to my grandson" I snap making him nod. We were halfway through the school when Jay and Erin came in running the moment they saw us. It was about the same time I wondered why the hell this was such a long hallway. Jay picks me up effortlessly Flynn wrapping his arm around Lexi comforting her, now that I couldn't. "Ambulance is outside we heard the call some of it anyway".

He places me in the back of the ambulance as Adam places him in the back of a car. Police cars surrounding the school. "Have the kids go out the back they don't need to see this" I command Jay who nods looking at me carefully as Lexi sits beside me. "Hey can I come I left my stuff and I can get Lexis bag" Flynn asks causing me to nod "I'll take you and tell patrol to start sending kids out back" I nod "so on a scale of one to one hundred how much are Voight and O going to kill me" Adam asks after sending officers back to the district with him. I wince as the paramedics work on the pen stab wound. "Oh definitely one hundred" Jay remarked making Adam frown "dad won't care his focus will be on me and that she is safe" Lexi said quietly the first thing she's said making me smile "ok looks like it just needs stitches I have patched it now let's look at that shoulder" Sylvie said. I groan holding back a scream as she pulls my jacket off. She was delicate about it but that didn't make a difference. "Sorry" she said making me shake my head with tears in my eyes as the other paramedic looks over Lexi trying to get her to talk. "It's ok" I wave her off just as Al comes running over. Lexi jumps up into her fathers arms. Al looks over me with my eyes I give him a nod. Kevin is not far behind him, Adam turns and explains everything to the man. "It looks dislocated" I nod as she touches my bones around the area "ok and your collarbone is sensitive which could mean broken but we won't know until you get an X-ray at the hospital" I nod looking down "you right Pen" Jay asks causing me to send him a smile "let's get you loaded up" "I'll drive Lex to the hospital you guys go" Al said causing me to nod they walk away with Kevin follows. Passing Flynn who handed Kevin lexis stuff before walking with Erin over to us as both paramedics help me in. "Make sure Henry is there I need one if his hugs" Jay nods "hey grandma can I come" he asks causing me to sigh "we can take him" Erin offers wanting to spend more time with her nephew, who doesn't seem to want to spend any with her. "Na I think I will go with grandma" he climbs in the ambulance the Sylvie nods.
