Things had been rocky between me and Henry. Sure I had forgiven him but I can't get past a lie. A lie broke destroyed my family how could I just let it in move past it like it never happened. I had kept my distance from everyone the unit, Al, Henry  anyone with a badge. They all knew for a year and didn't say anything, they all knew how I felt about lies. I had gotten closer to Cindy Herman introduced us so we have been having a lot of girl time. Sophie loved playing with Kenny James who is the same age just a few months older. We hang out every Wednesday sometimes more if we felt like it but Wednesday was our dedicated day. I had also been spending time with people outside the force. Donna Boden being one we spend time on weekends as she's a teacher and Henry can have our daughter. I meet up with Maggie, Sharon whenever they don't have a shift. I also have Sylvie, April Kelly, Connor all keeping me busy. My weeks are pretty full avoiding everyone else. It was a day away from Sophie's birthday making me so so excited. I had invited absolutely everyone even told my darling husband that the bodies will have to wait. It was a real first responder party, people from med, fire and my darling husbands unit all coming. Can tell you not everyone was pumped about the black and purple unicorn theme but they did it to make the sassy princess happy. I was at the hospital like always just stroking his head. Off in my own world.

I look up at the machine as it starts making irregular noises. Will immediately comes in to check. "What's going on" I was panicking was this the end, they had told me from the beginning he may not make it. "His waking up" he said carefully as April came in, I gasp standing there in shock. I knew I should call Henry but I couldn't make myself move. Feeling as though this was a dream and it would all float away if I moved. I was in a trance like state. I stood there still and blinking as Will, April and now Connor work on him. "Hey buddy do you know where you are"Connors voice snaps me out I want nothing more than to rush over there and hold him. But he may not know me, I can't put that potential stress on him. I have to know before I move. I hear a groan specifically his groan bring a smile to my face tears building up in my eyes. I was overjoyed at that sound even with the unknown hanging over us. "Con" his voice raspy and clearly weak the doctors all share a look. An unreadable look, one that I couldn't quite determine. Connor and Will swap spots "Hey Justin I'm going to ask you a few questions" Will told him as Connor walks over to me "what's going on" I could tell something was up. He led me out of the room standing in front of me "he remembers you that's good right" "yeah" he nods "wills just trying to determine whether he remembers me because I'm your godson and we grew up together or whether he remembers because his memory is fine" I was confused "he may not remember Will or the year or basic information our connection may have been deeper that it didn't get affected" I slowly nod "so he may remember me" "but he may not remember Flynn or Sophie we need to determine how deep it if it goes anywhere which is why we're out here and Will and April are in there" I should be ecstatic I had been begging for him to remember me. But if he doesn't remember Sophie and Flynn. I gasp "get them to ask about Kyra" he nods sending a message a moment later April came out "what" "ask about Kyra" she looks confused "his sister she passed when she was eight she would be 18 now" she slowly nods walking back in. I can't believe it's been ten years. "I had Maggie call Hank for you" I nod smiling thankfully at him. "Did was Kyra hit by a car" I nod to wills question "on his memory seems a bit slow with things but I can't see any reason to worry right now he does have no memory what happened or why he is here it seems that certain things he doesn't know like how cat is living here...he will need lots of therapy for his movement but somehow his a miracle his asking about you and Flynn" I nod walking into the room. "Mum" that's when I break I start to cry I had been dreaming of this for so long "hey baby" I kiss his head before sitting down holding his hand "you dad is on his way with Sophie and Flynn" "how long" "nine months" I say without hesitation he sighs "they have been good Flynn did break up with silver but I will let you tell him about it. Me and you dad have a adopted daughter Ellie she's seventeen she's on her way with them. She's kind and loving she's family just like you. You didn't miss Sophie or Flynn's birthdays so don't worry" he smiles "god don't you every worry me like that again" "any of us kid" Henry said walking in Flynn rushed over hugging his dad careful of the wires. "Tin tinman" Sophie squeals trying to get to Justin. Ellie came and stood by me while Henry went to the other side. "She's been like that every time I brought her which was almost daily" I told him "I'm Ellie" "I know mum here explained" she smiles

"What's with the tension mum" I look at Justin Henry just stepped out for a moment. Flynn laying on the chair opposite, Sophie asleep on Justin, Ellie sitting by the window "what are you talking about" "you and dad something is going on" "he lied to grandma" Flynn told him shrugging as he scrolls through his phone not even paying much attention to us "what" "yeah he lied" Flynn said since when did he want to be in this conversation "he knows how you feel about lying hell I thought you would drop me off at an orphanage if I lied as a kid" "Adam told you that" I correct him I can tell he wants to laugh but he doesn't want to be in pain. He can barely talk but he is. "Besides I forgave him" "forgave but not forgot" Ellie corrects making me realises she is also listening great "what I live there I notice things you both place the nice card but everyone knows his trying to earn your trust back and your on edge from the lying" she shrugs making Flynn laugh just as Henry comes in "what did I miss" "our tension is hot topic" I say and he just shakes his head coming over to me "seriously you lied" Justin exclaims his voice getting strong and strong with every word. "Not my finest moment" "don't worry you will never live this down" Flynn smirks causing Henry to sighs leaning into me. Maybe we were going to be ok.
