Damien POV

"Brand, we have to do something, and soon. We now know she had scouts in the walls, gods knows what they heard, they could have even heard our meeting the other day about our guest and also about the meeting that is about to begin." I said slamming the desk as Brand glared at me,

I had received word from the servants that two women had failed to turn up for duty yesterday, having only worked a singular day before. Upon further investigation there was no doubt they were working for her, their training mirrored Lillians, I could tell.

"How dare you lecture me, your king. I know what I'm doing Damien. And there is no way they would have heard us, besides I cannot cancel this meeting. I cannot let the other rulers know something is up, let alone the council. That she is free and out to get us all" he said chugging his drink back,

"Brand, you cannot seriously be this delusional, she's gone I get it, you're a wreck, but this is your kingdom. The last thing we need is her turning up, and we don't need her walking in whilst everyone is here. Gods know what she will do, what she could say" I said as Brand threw the glass across the room with a smash,

"Shut up Damien, you know nothing. Nothing at all, you may have tried to make your moves on her, but she is mine. I claimed her, she belongs to me, her powers, her mind, her body, every single little part that makes her up belongs to me. She is my mate! You know nothing of what I've done to get her. And if she comes here so be it, she will finally be back where she belongs, with me." he said as I frowned,

"You are nothing Damien, in the grand scheme of things I don't even think she liked you. You are just the brother, something fun she wanted to spice her life up with, or that you barged into her life with, the little looks, the little remarks oh, and also don't forget the time you almost kissed her. All this talk about her since she's been gone, I know what you want. YOU WANT TO STEAL HER FROM ME BUT SHE IS MINE." he yelled as I frowned, staggering ever so slightly from his words as the harsh truth hit me.

"What did you just say" I said deadly calm looking up as Brand's eyes widened slightly and he turned away to pour another drink,

"Get out Damien, go to the meeting. I will be there in a moment" he said as I slammed my fist on the desk again, a crack appearing from the sheer force of my hand.

"No Brand, repeat-what-you-just-said," I said with my jaw clenched hard, attempting to keep my voice still. Raw anger flowed through my veins as the shadows curled beneath my feet, wrapping around me, twitching angrily.

"She was telling the truth, wasn't she? She did fall from that balcony; you went into all our minds didn't you, corrupting us from your filthy secret. That's why she was so confused" I said furiously, "But you couldn't get into hers could you. That's where your troubles started." I said pointing my finger at him,

"I bet that's why you were so frantic, the possibility she would eventually figure out what you did to us, what you did to her. You took our memories without permission to make yourself look better. To make her feel as if she made the whole thing up." I said my voice getting louder and louder, the shadows growing larger around me as the light began to disappear from the room.

Brand turned around faster than the eye could see as he gripped my neck and pushed me into the cold stone wall growling, his fangs lengthening.

"Watch your mouth brother, you know nothing about me" he said as I hissed and pushed him off me over to the other side of the room. Brand stumbled as I frowned looking down at my hands, the shadows still wrapping around my body. What the fuck? I couldn't be powerful enough to make him stumble?

He was older than me, I could never catch up with his power, surely? The eldest born always inherited more power than the others, it was basic vampire knowledge, it shouldn't be physically possible for me to move him, let alone throw him across the room.
