I wriggled desperately against her grasp as I noticed Damien and Hyde rush up and into the hall, however I quickly held my hand out to the side, activating the shield which covered the inside of the hall, the red magic flowing up in between the pillars and shutting them out.

Damien lifted his gaze to me frantically as he yelled slamming his hands against the invisible barrier again and again. I looked around as I went to flick my hand again but before I could I was shoved roughly down the stairs and onto the floor,

I rolled down the steps as I hit every bump and I groaned rolling over as I saw my mother walking carefully down the steps,

The room spun slightly as I pushed myself up onto my hands, blinking rapidly to stop the awful ringing in my head.

She laughed as I noticed soldiers around me with my people in their arms, weapons placed tightly against their throats,

"Surprisingly easy for us to break in here Lillian, but then again I was the one in charge of setting up the security. So sorry about that" she mocked as I scowled pushing myself to my feet,

"This isn't going to end well mother, so just fight me. Let my people go" I said as I looked around and I saw Brand pushing up against the barrier, his eyes meeting mine as he watched me with an unrecognizable expression,

"Why would I do that now? I don't want to fight you my dear, I want you to give up. Surrender your power, and these people go free. Don't surrender and well" she said swiping her throat with her finger as she laughed,

"How did you get out?" I said as she held out her hand, my sword appearing. "It took a lot of time and a lot of patience, but your magic was just the key I needed to break my cell. You see your magic isn't banned where I was trapped, and so I could manipulate it to break it all" she said as she ran her fingers over the blade, the red magic running over it,

"Now make your choice Lillian, or I will kill everyone here, those front doors are locked, no one will be leaving." She said as I narrowed my eyes, I looked around as I counted,

Four hostages, I just had to figure out a way to send them through the shield and out of harm's way. I looked back at my mother as I held my hands up in fake surrender, "Fine mother, fine" I said lowering my head as I looked around,

Fuck there must be something here for me to use. Anything.

She smiled as I lifted my gaze to her, but before she could open her mouth I flicked my wrists, a dense red fog filling the room as I ran. I reached under my dress as I pulled out the axe and I lifted it,

My eyes adjusted quickly as I quickly swung the axe, planting it directly in the first soldiers head, I reached out with the other arm as I grabbed the hostage and flung them through the shield, their body slamming into the soldiers on the other side.

I pushed on as I continued swinging taking out each soldier until three hostages had been safely flung through the shield to safety,

"ENOUGH!" my mother yelled as black magic poured through the room clearing the fog and throwing me against the pillar with a sickening crack, her magic snaking up the shield as it fought to escape, thankfully with no success.

I groaned as I held my ribs and looked up seeing pure fury on my mother's face as she stalked towards me,

"Enough of these party tricks, you think you can outsmart me child?" she said as she grabbed me by my chin and lifted me off the floor,

"PUT HER DOWN" I heard Damien yell through the shield as I kicked against her grasp, gasping for air. She smirked as she flung me again, this time I hit the shield hard and smashed onto the floor hitting my head,
