I quickly rushed out of the room after Damien as I sighed deeply, picking at my nails.

I knew this was going to be difficult for us, but it was going to have to happen at some point. I mean once we got back to Ezerene, we were going to have to pretend to hate each other. If we couldn't even spend a few days apart, none of this was ever going to work.

I took a deep breath as I opened the door to the bedroom to see Damien pouring a glass of blood and throwing it back quickly as he paced up and down, his fists clenched.

I bit my lip as I took a tentative step forwards and he turned to look at me, throwing back the rest of the glass before turning to face the window. I sighed as I walked up to him and wrapped my arms around his body,

I felt him relax into me as I rested my head into his back and I wrapped my arms around tighter, letting his scent fill my body as I moulded perfectly into him.

"I don't want to leave you, but we must be clever here. We don't have the time and we need to find out what's going on, we have so much to do without letting Brand realise what's happening. We have to do this to make sure we can get our revenge" I whispered as I felt him sigh and he turned around to look at me, his hand cupping my face as I closed my eyes and leant into his touch, tingles running against my skin.

"I know Lillian, but I just don't even want to leave you, ever again. What if something happens to you? You come above everything for me, even revenge on Brand, you are the only thing I now live for" he said as I smiled and pulled him in kissing him on the lips,

"Damien, I will be fine. I have my powers and Cyrene has hers, I'm not a powerless child anymore. I can take care of myself better than ever" I said my eyes flashing as he smiled at me rubbing a thumb over my lips,

"I know you can glow stick, I have seen you throw Brand across the room with the flick of your fingers. I know that you can protect yourself but I'm just afraid that we may not know enough, and we don't know what we are up against, I can't leave you." he said quietly as I smiled up at him,

I placed a kiss on his cheek as I stepped back and turned away. I knew I had to go now, or I wouldn't leave at all.

My hand slowly left his as I felt my heart ache and I forced myself to walk away from him, my footsteps echoing in the quiet room,

As I reached the door I turned to face him and I felt my heart crack and my stomach turn,

"I'll be back before you know it, I promise you" I said my voice slightly cracking as I turned and rushed out the room towards the main hall but not before hearing him whisper softly,

"I love you glowstick" he said as I pushed on a small tear running down my face,

As I reached the door I wiped the tear that had escaped and I pushed the doors open walking in,

As I did Cyrene turned to look at me and I smiled at her, "I have something for you" she smiled as she held up a box,

I walked over and took the box as I looked at her wide eyed, "You didn't have to do anything for me Cyrene" I said as she smiled at me,

I slowly opened the box as I gasped and pulled the outfit out. "Oh my gods, this is gorgeous Cyrene, you really shouldn't have. I have my old one, it works just fine" I said as I ran my fingers over the fabric,

It was red and black woven together, but in a fashion I had never quite seen before. It seemed almost ancestral, like the pictures I had seen within the witch history books.

"This is beautiful" I said as I stepped back, "I can't take this Cyrene, really, my old one is fine" I said as she raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms,
