Lillian POV
Death was interesting.
One moment I was there, Damien's eyes piercing my soul as I told him I loved him, and then the next I was gone, somewhere else, somewhere I didn't recognise.
I felt a warmth envelop me as I searched the void, searching for something to help me escape this eternal pit of nothingness.
Something entered my mind as I felt something change within me, something cold and harsh entered my mind as everything adjusted to my new body, my new being.
I was immortal.
I heard Damien's scream pierce my mind as I gasped and suddenly I was pulled back into my body, my eyes opening as I feel through the air.
I couldn't move my body as I plummeted towards the core of the earth, slowly I felt my body change,
My teeth elongated as my skin grew paler, tougher. My body hardened, matching that of Evelyn's. I felt my nails elongate as my neck snapped back into place and I took in a sharp intake of breath, my body returning to me as I flexed my fingers.
I let out a silent scream as I felt something burst out of my back and I felt blood pour down my body as I screamed.
Pain rushed through every fibre of my body as I turned my head my eyes widening.
There was no way.
As I turned I noticed something writhing underneath me and a pair of golden eyes looked up at me,
Diaval.
He watched me carefully as he roared, a deafening sound that didn't scare me. In fact I just smiled,
"Sedjet" I cried out as Diaval opened his mouth, fire pouring out of it as I flew upwards, away from the burning heat that threatened to boil me alive.
Diaval soared upwards, following me as he extended his wings, a single flap causing the earth to shake around me.
He was magnificent. His scales were a deep scarlet, with flecks of gold covering the tip of each one. His deep golden eyes watched me carefully as I felt like I was looking into a mirror,
He dipped his head as he soared around me, his enormous body wrapping around me as we broke free of the chasm, smoke and dust erupting around us as we soared into the air, screams and cries coming from below as we both rose into the clouds.
He hovered as I tilted my head, Diaval copying. I extended my hand gently as I took a deep breath, Diaval closed his eyes but before I could touch him a black spear pierced the clouds, catching him on his wing as he roared, plummeting towards the ground.
I gasped as he watched me desperately, trying to regain control. He slammed into the ground as my eyes widened and I plummeted towards the ground, following him.
I entered the thick plume of dust and smoke that rose around him as the wind gently pushed it aside, showing me to the world.
Damien let out a strangled gasp of relief as I lifted my head and the scent of Brand's fear wafted across the field, my mother holding her hand over her mouth as I stood tall unwrapping my wings from in front of my face.
I had wings, and that made me an original vampire.
Damien Pov
It was impossible, it should have been impossible, but there she was.
She had beautiful black wings, ones that meant only one thing. She was an original.
Her eyes darted around as they met mine and I tried to contain myself,
