"I don't have a good feeling about this Lillian" Damien said absentmindedly as we walked towards our room. I sighed as I held the book close to my chest, "neither do I, but I just feel like we are missing something, and I'm not quite sure what it is." I said as we entered the room and I sat down onto the bed opening the book,

"But I guess this is a good start?" I said grimacing as I slid up to sit at the top of the bed and Damien sat next to me his eyes searching my face, "Go on. I'm here with you all the way" he said quietly as I bit my lip my stomach turning,

"They're blank?" I said as I flicked through the pages, empty parchment looking back at me.

However as I finished my sentence words began to blend together, magic covering the paper as images and words began to appear.

"Grandmother" I breathed as I saw her on the first page, "this doesn't even look like her" I whispered as I ran my fingers over the drawing.

It was as if I could feel her raw power through the page, she was magnificent, the literal definition of a goddess. Banishment had done her poorly.

"That's your grandmother?" Damien asked quietly as I glanced at him. I smiled as I turned the page over, "Yeah slightly scary isn't it, you get over it after the first time." I said as I let out a dry laugh and I began to read.

"So it turns out goddesses are not allowed to produce children unless it is with other gods. But Grandmother refused to allow a man to taint her purity, so she made her own child, my mother. Now this was against every single natural law, and she therefore made something no one could control, no gods or even herself. It was completely unnatural and therefore lead to complete corruption, and Hecate was banished. She is not to be allowed to use her powers except for her ceremonial date every year, the winter solstice."

"So my mother isn't evil, she was just made that way, she is not meant to exist, therefore neither am I" I said as I felt my stomach turn, Damien grabbed my hand as I looked at him,

"No Lillian, don't you dare. You are not like this, you are not only a pure descendant of Hecate, but you are half human, it balances you, do you think this power would have chosen you if you weren't?" he said as I bit my lip,

"I don't know if I want to keep reading" I said as I sighed, "we need to know Lillian" he said as I nodded, "Right of course" I said as I flipped the page, "Oh gods above, that's my mother" I breathed as I traced the page lightly,

"She looks.." I said as I trailed off, "Evil." Damien finished as I felt a small tear escape, "This isn't the person I knew" I said quietly as I continued to run my finger over the drawing, my heart twisting at the sight of her surrounded by black magic. "That's not my mother. She was caring, kind, perhaps a little strict but she wasn't this creature" I said as I began to read,

"Her powers manifested young, completely dark magic, and when it came to her first winter solstice her powers manifested black, showing the darkness nested within her. She is the first and only black magic wielding witch. Her spells wreak havoc and pain to others, and she took over and controlled towns. She ended up creating her own descendants, perfectly mixed beings of pure power. She picked the specific individual that would great the perfect genetic match for her own weapons." I shuddered as I felt sick,

"Oh my gods, my father. He wasn't evil, he didn't deserve what we did to him, what I did to him" I said as I felt my stomach turn and I turned, Damien moving at vampire speed as the bin appeared in front of me and I threw up violently,

Once finished Damien grabbed a tissue wiping my mouth gently as I heaved, my stomach turning again and again as the images of my father's face flashed across my mind.
