The sorting was other fast with the new young witches in their colours and new covens. There was mainly a sea of new white witches, however a couple of blues had appeared to our surprise.

As I sat down my glass swirling in my hand I felt a gnawing feeling in my stomach grow as if someone was watching me, breathing down my neck.

As I went to turn around I felt a hand grab mine and I quickly turned back my eyes flashing. As I saw it was Damien I breathed a sigh of relief, the feeling disappearing.

"Are you okay?" he said looking me over as I shook my head and drunk the rest of my glass in one gulp, "I'm fine, just on edge about later I think" I said as I stood up smoothing out my dress,

He smiled as he rubbed my back reassuring me, "Well I actually came here to ask you something" he said as he quickly bent over, extending his hand out causing me to laugh out loud, stern looks coming from around me at my outburst.

"Would the Queen grace this humble vampire with a dance?" he said as I laughed again at his exaggerated form,

"The Queen would love to" I said as he guided me to the floor, people parting and letting us through as the little ones continued to stare at me,

"I hate being the centre of attention. I just feel like such a freak" I sighed as Damien wrapped his arm around my waist and looked down at me,

"Well as the Queen, I do think you should probably fix that. Especially since there hasn't actually been a Queen before. Well there's never been a ruler quite like you. You do tend to leave a big impression" he smiled as we began to dance,

As Damien guided me around the floor I felt a happy warmth grow within me, "I know I've said it before, but I don't know how I'm going to stay away from you when we have to go back" I said quietly,

"Let alone having to pretend to have no feelings whatsoever" I finished as he grimaced,

"Me too Lillian. We also need a story for why we have been gone for so long" he stated as I sighed deeply,

"I never want to leave here. I fear this is the last little bit of peace we will get, its only just beginning" I continued as he twirled me round and around,

As he walked me round I felt a pull in my stomach and I stopped, my head snapping to the balcony as I felt Damien tense behind me, pulling me in close.

"What is it Lillian?" he said as I felt my eyes glow. I looked up as I felt a lump grow in my throat and there she was, my grandmother.

Cyrene stepped forward as every fell silent and bowed their heads, all except from me and Damien who stood tall, refusing to acknowledge her arrival.

"Our guest has finally arrived, Hecate we bow to you" she said as everyone bowed lowly except me and Damien again, both of us refusing to lower ourselves.

I did not let my gaze waver from hers as she let out a forced smile, her eyes never leaving mine.

"Hello my children. Welcome to the old and the new, it is so beautiful to see so many of you here for this special celebration, a celebration of my bloodline, of my special granddaughter Lillian" she said as I felt a spark of anger run through me,

How fucking dare she. Special my arse she didn't even know me.

"The ritual shall begin shortly so please find your seats" she said as I walked forwards and up the stairs, Damien shadowing me as I felt the shadow's curl protectively around my feet.

As I reached the top she turned to face me, "Hello Lillian" she said as I stared at her, trying to keep my emotions contained.

"Hello Hecate, how nice of you to finally appear in my life" I said coldly as I said something flash across her face, hurt? Shock? Whatever it was I didn't care,
