Kaia's POV
"I can't believe you didn't tell me the moment you both saw me!" I yell at Ezra and Ti, both now standing in front of me, hands behind their backs and heads down like two kids being scolded for stealing cookies.
"Well-" Ti starts but I cut him off.
"No! No 'wells' or 'buts'. You knew you were Mates a week ago and didn't tell me straight away!"
"But-" Ezra starts.
"No! I said not buts!" I grunt, "And I called you boys my friends."
"Kaia." Ezra groans.
"No. I can't believe you. Both of you!" I stomp my foot and turn on my heel.
Of course I'm happy for them. I'm ecstatic. But it would have been nice to have been told three days ago. I'd been with them for nearly the whole three days I'd been here. They had plenty of chances to tell me.
I suppose I'm being slightly hypocritical though. I've also had plenty of chances to tell them where I've been.
To tell Nic we're not actually related.
But I don't know if I can do that. I don't even think I've fully come to terms with it. But despite us not being related by blood, he'll always be my brother.
But the moment I voice it aloud, that's when it will be real. And I don't want that to happen yet.
I groan and then turn around. I'm not going to be hypocritical. I can't be angry at them. No matter the reason they had to keep me in the dark.
I turn back around and they're still standing there with their heads down. They must have heard my steps get louder because as I walk towards them they both look up.
I wrap my arms around Ti and then gesture to Ezra to come in too. He wraps his arms around us both and we just stay there, wrapped in each other's embraces.
"We're sorry for not telling you straight away." Ti whispers into my hair and I feel Ezra nod into me back.
"It's fine." I sigh, "I knew you guys would be Mates anyways, I'm just annoyed I didn't get to be here when you found out. And sorry I missed your birthday too Ezra."
Ezra laughs and mumbles something into me though I can't make out the words but I'll take it as an acceptance of my apology.
"So have you guys done it?" I ask them and they both groan, letting go of me.
"Don't even Kaia." Ti mumbles but Ezra just smirks.
"Let's get food," He says, ignoring my question, "I'm hungry."
"But Santiago's right here." I say and they both ignore me, turning around and walking to the kitchen.
It's okay. They don't need to laugh. I know I'm funny.
Melody's POV
"You're beautiful." Attikus mumbles into my ear, his fingers twirling in my hair.
"Stop it." I smirk up at the ceiling, trying to hide the blush I know is there.
Attikus has been nothing but sweet to me since we first met. When he saved me from the stupid Fae people.
Kaia isn't included into that stupid Fae category though. I mean I overheard the others saying that she hasn't fully 'unlocked' her Fae half, whatever the fuck that means. I should probably ask to be updated, but right now, Kaia should be the last thing on my mind.
