Chapter 45

"SURE ka bang wala nang masakit sa 'yo?" Logan asked while walk at the road side. After my get-together with Roger, he asked my father if he can take me out for a walk, and here we are.

Umiling ako bilang sagot. "Wala na. Alam mo naman na mabilis lang humilom ang sugat ko kung mayro'n man, 'di ba?"

He nodded in response. Nakakapanibago kasi hindi na siya 'yong Logan na mapilit magtanong. I just smiled before looking back at the road to watch how people here live their lives.

Naalala ko naman kanina ang ganap nila ni Daisy. I also remembered what Rachel told me back at the clinic. Napangiti na lang ako dahil kung iisipin man, Daisy really deserves Logan than anyone.

I cleared my throat and looked back at him with a smile etched on my face. "Kumusta na kayo ni Daisy?"

I feel a sting in my chest, but I ignored it.

"What do you mean?" kunot-noong tanong niya. He really changed—from his hair and appearance, to the way he talks, everything about him.

It was like. . . he is not my ahjussi anymore.

I nudged him to the elbow kiddingly. "Ito naman parang 'di kaibigan eh. Nagka-outbreak lang nakalimutan mo na 'yong salitang, lovelife?"

Hindi siya sumagot. He just gave me a puzzled look before he looked back at the road. He's giving me a cold shoulder, which I tried to ignore.

But I can't. I stopped walking and just stared quietly at his back. Ni hindi nga siya tumigil sa paglalakad, na parang hindi niya naramdaman na hindi na pala ako nakasunod sa kaniya.

What happened, Logan?

Napalingon siya, kaya nagkunwari akong may tinitingnan na bahay. I was in front of an office.

"What are you looking at?" tanong niya. Even his voice sounds so empty.

I smiled. "I don't know. I just stopped walking just to look at this place."

"This is my workplace. Gusto mo bang pumasok?" he invited me.

Napatingin ako sa kaniya. "Pwede ba?"

Tumango siya bilang sagot. He took out a key from his pants pocket before walking towards the glass door. Binuksan niya ito, kaya sumunod ako papasok.

"Oh, Logan? Nakabalik na pala kayo ni bebe mo?" the police officer asked.

Bebe? Si Daisy ba?

"Tch! I already told you to stop teasing me," Logan said.

Napatingin sa akin ang pulis. "Oh! Ikaw ba 'yong babaeng kasama ni Logan na na-coma? Ano ngang pangalan mo?Jackie? Jamie?"

"Jamira," I corrected.

"Ah! Jamira!" he exclaimed and snapped his fingers. "Ikaw din pala 'yong nakuwento ni Hades na babae! Grabe, ang dami mong admirers kahit tulog ka ah?"

"Ah. Haha."

I looked at Logan, pero nakatitig lang din siya sa akin. I cleared my throat before looking at the surroundings.

"In fairness ah? Ikaw pa lang ang unang tao na dinala ni Logan dito sa opisina. Kahit nga si bebe niya—"

Logan glared at him. "Shut up, Micky."

The guy, Micky, closed an imaginary zipper on his mouth before going back to his desk. Naiilang na lang akong natawa bago ako lumapit kay Logan.

"Don't mind him," he said.

I just nodded my head. Sinenyasan niya akong sumunod sa kaniya, and so I did. We went inside the armory and I was amazed, seeing many guns and useful bombs here.
