Kai POV

A few days after the mock battles I make my way home with groceries; when I get there I head to the kitchen to see mom just sitting down on the couch. I put the groceries down and join her on the couch.

Kai: "You okay?"

Mom: "Huh, oh. Just worried about Deku. I heard he didn't get any points in the mock battle. He worked so hard to get in and I fear he won't."

Kai: *pats back* "It'll be okay. It he doesn't get in then I'll just see if I can give him my invitation."

Mom: "But what about you?"

Kai: "I'll just wait and retake the battle next year."

Mom: "You always were a good brother."

I smile when there's a knock on the door. We get up to answer it to see two letters on the ground. I pick them up to see that one's for me and the other's for Deku. I take mine while handing mom Deku's. I head to my room and open that letter. A disk comes out which plays a projection of All Might.

All Might: "Greetings Kai Midoriya. It truly is a pleasure to see you again. In case it wasn't wasn't obvious, I'm part of the faculty at UA. This academy has likely sent you a letter with a special disk. You've been selected to attend the great UA academy. We've reviewed the footage from the mock battle and it was unanimously decided to bring your skill into the school. Congratulations young man, on becoming the newest member of UA."

The projection disappears as I exit my room. As I pass by Deku's room I hear him shout in joy. It's official, he's a student too. I smile for him and go help mom prepare dinner. A few days later and we're making our way into the academy.

Kai: "This is it."

Deku: "Yep, our path to becoming a hero starts here."

As soon as the door is opened we hear stickler.

Stickler: "Take your feet off the desk."

I look at who's talking to and see a that kid who got captured by  the slime. Looking at him he's got red eyes and an explosion like hair style.

Cherry Bomb: "You're kidding right? Your old school put a stick up your ass?"

I look at Deku to see a dark cloud over him.

Kai: "What's wrong with you?"

Deku: "Remember that kid I grew up with who ended becoming my bully?"

Kai: "Yeah."

Deku: "That's him, Kacchan. But everyone calls him Bakugo."

I look at Cherry Bomb and narrow my eyes in anger. So he's the chump who made Deku's life hell. I'm gonna keep my eye on him. After my mental note I see everyone's attention is now on us.

Deku: "Hello."

Kai: "Listen up. If any of you try to bully Deku you'll have to answer to me, got it? Especially you Bakugo."

Bakugo: "What was that runt?"

Kai: "I want you to stay clear of my little brother."

Bakugo: "You're not the boss of me."

Man: "Alright, settle down."

We turn to see a man in a sleeping bag.

Man: "Welcome to UA's hero course. Eight seconds, that's how long it took you all to shut up, that's not gonna work. Time is precious. Rational students would've understood that."

Kai: "Who might you be?"

Aizawa: "I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher. Right let's get to it."

He reaches into his sleeping bag withdrawing some kind of uniform.

Aizawa: "Put these on and head outside."

We each put on a uniform and head outside to a training field.

Uraraka: "Shouldn't we be in orientation?"

Aizawa: "If you wanna make the big leagues you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at UA we're not tethered to traditions. That means I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you've never got to use your quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational, one day the ministry of education will learn. Bakugo, you've managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was your furthest distance softball throw in junior high?"

Bakugo: "Sixty seven meters I think."

Aizawa: "Great, try using your quirk."

He's tossed a softball and steps inside a circle.

Aizawa: "Anything's allowed just stay inside the circle."
