Kai POV

We all breathe a sigh of relief at the news.

Aizawa: "None of you failed the written exam, but five of you failed the practical exam. Allow me to explain. For the practical battles the teachers made sure to leave a way for the students to win. Otherwise you never would've stood a chance. We were interested in observing how you each worked together and approached the task at hand."

Ojiro: "But didn't you promise that the teachers wouldn't be holding back?"

Aizawa: "That was just to get you on edge. Besides the training camp will focus on building your strength. Those who failed need those lessons the most. We were never gonna separate you. That was just a logical deception we used."

Iida: "Mr. Aizawa this is the second time you've lied to us. Aren't you afraid we'll lose faith in you?"

Aizawa: "That's a good point. I'll consider it. But I wasn't lying to you about everything. Failure is failure. We're prepared extra lessons for the five that failed. Frankly they'll be far tougher than what you'll face in summer school."

He exits the classroom leaving us to talk amongst ourselves.

Iida: "Looks like we'll be at the training camp a whole week."

Deku: "I've gotta find a bigger suitcase."

Denki: "I don't even have a bathing suit. Guess I need to buy some stuff."

Toru: "Since we're off tomorrow and we finally finished exams I have the best idea. Why doesn't class 1a go shopping together?"

Denki: "Yeah, we never hung out as a class before."

Bakugo: "I can't think of anything more annoying."

Deku: "Will you come Todoroki?"

Todoroki: "I visit my mom on days off."

The next day we set out to go shopping.

Mina: "I love this place. It's got a ton of different stores to shop at and they're all super cool and hip."

Man: "Is that class 1a?"

Man2: "I saw them on tv."

Denki: "Something tells me I need outdoorsy shoes for the training camp."

Toru: "Me too."

Kirishima: "Why don't we split up and look around? We can meet here again when we're done."

Mina: "Great idea."

Kirishima: "Perfect. Let's say we meet back up here around three?"

Everyone: "Sounds good."

I break off from everyone and head to the camping store. After grabbing a few supplies I make my way to the shoe store. However as I go there I see a man in a black hoodie sitting down with Deku. I look closer and see his hand around Deku's throat. I grit my teeth and make my way to them.

Deku POV

Deku: "I don't agree with the hero killer but I understand him, at least sorta. He and I have something in common. We're inspired by All Might. That night he even saved me from the flying Nomu. He's a maniac but he doesn't destroy things because it sounds fun. And when things were looking bad for him he didn't abandon his mission like you did. Even if the way he acted was wrong, he held true to his beliefs. That's the difference."

I look at Shigaraki and become scared, I think I said something bad. Thankfully before he can react someone clears their throat.

Kai: "I would advise you to let go of my brother's neck or we're gonna have a problem."

Hope fills my eyes as I see Kai. I look at Shigaraki and the only thing I see in his eyes is utter terror.

Shigaraki: *lets go* "Hey come on now, I was just having a talk with him."

Kai: "Last time I checked people don't talk with their hands around another person's throat. Wait a minute, that voice, do I know you from somewhere?"

Kai leans closer as Shigaraki backs up and sweat seeps through his hoodie.

Shigaraki: "I can assure you, we've never met."

Kai: "Now I recognize you, you're that guy with the hands all over him. The same guy who attacked the USJ. I broke your back if memory serves me correctly. You sure did heal up nicely."

Shigaraki: *shaky voice* "P-please, I-I-I don't want any t-trouble."

Kai: "And you'll get none. If you walk away and leave my little brother alone."

Shigaraki nods and speed walks away from us.

Kai: "You okay?"

Deku: "Yeah, thanks to you. Thank you."

Kai: "No worries, it's my job to look after you."

*with Shigaraki*

Shigaraki heads into an alley and begins panting while clutching his chest. He had never felt like that before, he counts himself lucky he was able to leave with incident. He fumbles for his phone and places a call.

Kurogiri: "Yes?"

Shigaraki: "Those recruits, tell them I accept their application."

Kurogiri: "Why the sudden change?"

Shigaraki: "I ran into him."

Kurogiri's body locks up as his words get caught in his throat. He knew who he was.

Kurogiri: "I'll give the recruits the news."
