You're the twin brother to Deku. While he wasn't born with a quirk you were.
*Fair warning you'll be taking Deku's place as main hero, this is your story after all*
I groan and open my eyes to bright lights. I look around when a doctor walks in.
Doctor: "You're awake."
Kai: "How long was I out?"
Doctor: "A few days. You recovered faster than we thought."
The doctor walks to my bed and prepares his clipboard.
Doctor: "While you were out we patched you up the best we could. But the damage to your spine was more than we expected. Can you move your toes?"
I look down and try to wiggle my toes. I sigh when nothing happens. My hopes are lifted when my toe wiggles.
Doctor: "Astounding. You really are a special person."
He writes on his clipboard while I smile.
*later that day*
Doctor: "You can do it."
I grab the rails and force my foot forward. I only get a couple of steps before I slightly fall.
Kai: "Dang it."
Doctor: "It's oaky. You'll get the hang of it. Healing takes time."
I nod and pick myself up again. And so over the next three days I pushed my body learning how to walk again. Once I managed that I was able to leave the hospital and return home.
However despite all this I still have a limp and require a cane. I wave goodbye to my doctor and head back to UA. Once I get there I see everyone laughing at Denki.
Kai: "Glad to see everyone smiling."
They all turn and run to me.
Kirishima: "You're looking well."
Kai: "You saying I normally don't?"
Mina: "We're just glad to see you okay. You had no idea how heartbreaking it was watching you fight."
Kai: "Glad to see you all cared about me."
Iida: "You're our classmate, we have to look after each other."
Tsuyu: "What's up with the white streak?"
Kai: "I don't know, doctor said it's been like that ever since the fight."
Uraraka: "It makes you look cool."
Sero: "Really adds to your character."
Momo: "Let's go check out the dorms."
We nod and head inside. Later that night I sigh while sitting down on the couch.
Toru: "Hey Kai."
Kai: "Yeah?"
Toru: "What was it like, fighting that man?"
I look and see everyone is curious.
Kai: "Scary. Felt like at any moment he was gonna squash me like a bug. It's only thanks to my quirk that I won. Despite that, while I was in the coma the only thing I could think about was the fight. Every moment of it. The power behind each of his attacks rippling through my body. All the time time I could see his face and his attack coming. I wanted nothing more than for it to stop. That's why I'm glad I woke up, it took me away from that nightmare."
I look at my hand which begins to tremble. That's when Uraraka grabs my hand.
Uraraka: "It'll be okay Kai, while you're with us you won't ever have to worry about that ever again."
Iida: "We're here for you, if there's ever anything you need don't be afraid to ask."
Kai: "Thanks guys."
Toru: "Why don't we see each other's rooms and see who has the coolest?"
Kirishima: "Good idea, maybe that'll take your mind off everything you went through."
Kai: "Then let's do it."
We get up and the first room we see is Deku's. I knew he had a fascination with All might, but this is a little weird. There's paraphernalia of him all over the room. Everything from posters to All Might themed sports bottles.
Mina: "You're certainly a fan."
Next is Tokoyami who stands in front of his door. I simply nudge him away and enter his room.
Toru: "So dark and scary."
We search Yuga's room and just find it all sparkly and glittery.
Uraraka: "There's just one more room on this floor, which is..."
Deku: "Kai's."
Mina: "Come on!"
They march to my door and open it revealing my room.

Mina: "It's..."
Momo: "Not what I expected."
Kai: "What did you expect?"
Denki: "Workout machines and possibly several punching bags."
Kai: "Well sorry to disappoint."
After checking out everyone else's rooms we head back to the living room to cast votes.
Mina: "And the winner with the coolest room is... Sato."
