Levi was anxious to get out of his lesson. He was absentmindedly looking out the window instead of paying attention to his chemistry teacher. Grayson had decided not to go to school, and stayed at Levi's. Levi would've stayed at home with his boyfriend, but Lucas was staying at home, and Grayson had snapped a bit when the younger tried to offer staying. As soon as this god forsaken lesson was over, Levi intended on calling Lucas to see if everything was okay, and he would be straight home if not.

It felt like forever before the lunch bell rang, and Levi practically dragged Thomas out of the classroom and to the sixth form common room.

"Levi wait." He whined, "I need to go to Tesco for my lunch, I didn't bring anything. Jaxon is coming, as well, are you?"

"Nah, I need to call Lucas. Please can I message you what I want?"

"Yeah." Thomas shouts back as he starts to walk the other way down the hall.

As soon as Levi reached the couches his group sit on, he immediately pulled out of his phone, and dialled Lucas' number.

"This is Lucas' baby gay babysitting service for all you gals, gays and theys, Lucas speaking, how can I help?" Lucas sang down the phone.

Levi scowled, unimpressed with the uni student's behaviour, "How is he?"

"Well hello, Mr. O'Brien, it is so nice to hear from you, I assume you're wanting to check on your baby gay?"

"Stop fucking around, is he okay? Do I need to come home?"

"Ugh, you're so boring, honestly. Grayson is fine, he got up about an hour ago, had some toast and went back to bed. I mean, he's depressed isn't he, what else do you expect him to do?"

Levi was put as ease slightly by Lucas' words. "I don't really know. Did he say much?"

"Nope. Just nodded when I asked whether he wanted some toast, and then asked me when you would be home."

Levi bit his lip, and sucked in a breath trying to calm his nerves. "Okay then. I only have lunch and one more lesson. I should be home by 3."

"Stop worrying Lee, he's a big boy. Go eat your lunch and pay attention in class. Bye."

Levi was cut off before he could even think about replying. He let out a frustrated groan, and texted Thomas his meal deal order. As he did so, Matty approached him, a pasta pot from the canteen in hand.

"What you sayin'." He greeted, slinging his backpack on the floor as he sits opposite Levi.

"Stop talking road, bruv, its jarring." Levi groaned and shook his head. Matty just laughed in response as he swung his feet up onto the small table in between the couches.

"So, how's Grayson doing? I was pissed when you just left us like that, but once you told us what was going on... Sounded intense."  The blonde mumbled over a mouthful of pasta.

"Well, his parents came and picked him up on Saturday, and then Sunday morning I went and met up with his ex to get some advice."

"What did she say?"

"Some of it was helpful. But some of it.... I don't know. I think I am starting to see where they went wrong you know? She said I need to grow up and take care of him... take it day by day and be patient."

The two boys sat in silence for a minute as they mulled over Levi's words.

"Fuck that. I've already told you, he doesn't need a carer. And day by day? Fuck that too. You'll have times when taking it day by day will be too much, and you'll need to take it slower. Hour by hour, situation by situation, moment by moment. But you do need have patience, she wasn't wrong about that."

"Honestly Matty you're an absolute idiot 90% of the time but then you turn into some kind of bipolar wizard."

"Well, when you love someone, you'll do anything to help them. To show that you love them."

"Nah, you need to stop with the deep shit as well its making me bare uncomfortable."

"Now who's talking road?"
