Harry

For the rest of the day, I knew I was being watched. I could feel it in the way, silence crept over me in the whirlwind of noise. The way my shadow found a way to hide whenever I was alone. The way my hair rose, as steps ceased whenever I stopped walking.

None of the classes were exciting enough to mention. At lunch, Ron talked about the upcoming Quidditch try-out. He explained the game again, my focus constantly disappearing.

My last books had arrived at my Uncle's house and I told Ron I would go home early to pack my stuff so that I would be at his place when he got home.

It was still weird to think about it. I didn't have to live there anymore. Didn't have to listen to the constant pointing about appearance. About my ungratefulness. I would finally be able to breathe.

I strolled through the hallway and exited the large building. I went down the stairs and rounded a corner.

I nearly died of a heart attack when someone suddenly said, "It's funny how much you can find on the internet, isn't it?"

I already knew who it was before he had finished his sentence. I turned around to see Malfoy leaning up against the fundament of Hogwarts. One of his legs was raised a bit, placed on the wall a few inches higher than the other leg carefully placed on the ground.

I remained silent as I scanned the area for other people. For help.

"You know, all it took was just two simple clicks, and suddenly a lot of websites were more than happy to share a lot of interesting information about you." His mouth split into an awful grin.

"You don't know anything about me," I managed to say. I tried moving forward, but Malfoy's stare held me bound to the ground.

"Is that so?" He asked, taking a step toward me.

I felt a growing lump in my throat.

"Because from what I've learned, Harry Potter is a very popular name in an awful lot of articles."

We both knew what he was getting at, but I wished he wouldn't say it.

"Harry Potter, the boy who lived. Harry Potter, still no signs of the forever ongoing case about the bloody murder. Harry Potter, was it the uncle?" Draco listed a few of the many headlines I had already read a million times.

"Stop it." I bit.

"Why? It surely can't be because my ego is overshadowing you," he laughed. "No, this is ALL about you, and your lovely little life. You're actually more interesting than I thought."

He had to be joking, right?

My breathing sped up, my heart pounding harder.

Malfoy was closer now. He looked to the side where his two companions had now joined him. Crabbe sent me an ugly grin, Goyle remaining silent.

They circled me like a group of hungry vultures, waiting to draw out the life of their target.

"Tell me again, Potter. Were they actually killed, or was their life just too miserable to continue."

Crabbe laughed and Goyle quickly followed.

Dudley's words reappeared in my mind. "If I had such an ugly, shitty, bastard son like you, I would most certainly also kill myself."

"They were murdered," I managed to say. A tremble went down my spine.

Dead. They were dead before I'd ever known them.

"And the case? People certainly don't even give a fuck, or it would've been solved long ago," Malfoy whispered near my ear.

"Stop it!" I said.

Malfoy just laughed in my face.

"Please," I whispered.

Something like hesitation flickered in the backside of Malfoy's eyes, but then his grin widened.

Then realization struck me.

"Don't doubt that I won't spend every minute, every day, hunting you. That I won't find a single little crack in that terrible facade of yours, finding my way into the deepest corner of your tiny, brave, heart."

This was only the start. This was what happened when someone did something that didn't please him. Just like when I'd found him with Luna.

My body started to loosen up as a chuckle escaped me. Confusion flashed in Malfoy's grey eyes.

"You know, this is quite pathetic actually. You think you can remain on top of the hierarchy by degrading the people around you, when it's clearly visible, that you're the one who's scared to death. I might not have been at Hogwarts for long, but even I can see that your life is the most miserable of all."

I stared at him, a grin tugging my lips.

"And you should think that's quite funny coming from me."

I watched as the expression on Malfoy's face faded and was replaced by fury. He opened his mouth to speak but no words left his mouth.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." And with those words, I left him speechless in the corner, his friends gaping beside him, as I walked away before he had a chance to say something back.
