Song=The wave-Colouring

Harry

When Ron and I got home, I threw myself onto my bed, hands running through my hair as I tried to mute my thoughts.

Music was playing in the background and I could hear branches brushing against the window. The smell of warm food always filled the whole house, and like usual, made my body relax a bit more.

Ron said he'd had to leave shortly after we'd got home because he had a date with Lavender. Which meant that suddenly, I was alone in a room with way too much space to think.

My gaze flew to the half-open drawer, a piece of clothing dangling from the side. The window was open and cold air found its way to my face as I turned my head. My gaze then fell upon my desk where stacks of paper were placed. Professor Snape had thought it was awfully funny to assign us an extra amount of homework on Chemistry this week.

I hesitated, not moving as I continued to look at the homework. I really did not want to start it. But after a few minutes of contemplation, somehow I managed to move from my bed to my desk. Finally starting on the papers.

I was almost halfway done when a sound rang from my phone. I looked at the screen and saw an unknown number. Hitting the decline button I then flipped my phone to the other side.

A couple of minutes later, it buzzed once again. Once again an unknown number.

My head started to spin, as I wondered who the hell could be calling me at this time? I could make a whole list of people I didn't want t it to be.

Malfoy earned a spot right on the top.

But what if it was an emergency? What if something had happened to my friends?

I debated whether to pick up the phone for a long time until I suddenly just hit the green button and picked it up.

My heart was beating loud and fast and my whole body tensed as I heard the voice at the other end.

"Hello, Harry."

I sighed deeply and smiled.

"Hey, Cedric."

There was silence.

"How did you get my number?" I laughed.

I heard him chuckle through the phone, and could almost visualize the small dimples on the sides of his cheeks before me.

"I asked Ron and he was actually quite eager to give it to me," Cedric chuckled again. It was a wonderful sound. A sound I didn't know I'd craved for so long.

"Gee thanks, Ron," I grinned. "Not that it's bad actually. I don't don't want to talk to you," I said.

"Well, that certainly makes the whole situation less awkward," he chuckled. I laughed too until silence filled the phone.

"What are you doing?" He then asked.

"I was actually just trying to get through some homework set by the very generous Professor Snape," I tittered.

"Oh, well, I'm happy that's not me," he said. I could almost hear him smiling through the phone. "No, I'm just kidding. If you want help with it or anything else for that matter, I can come over one day and we can do it together?"

The question hung in the thin air for some time before I answered. I could hear his low breathing tighten.

"Yeah, sure, I would love that. Some of the assignments are really killing me."

"Yeah, great. Just give me a call and I'll be there."

Once again, the silence grew and I struggled to find something to say.

"Well, you have my number now so you can just keep it if you want. I think my dad wants me to help in the garage now so I have to go, but I'll talk to you later?"

"Yeah, sure," I smiled.

We both waited a little bit before he said, "Okay, bye then."

"Bye."

And then he hung up.

I fell into my bed and rolled onto my back, looking at the ceiling.

I couldn't help but smile. A true all-consuming kind of smile.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, enjoying the feel of a rare smile on my face. I imagined Cedric before me. Imagined that he would be the one to show up when my vision was all but darkness. But I was surprised when a figure slowly began to materialize in my mind, finding that it wasn't Cedric that had appeared. Instead someone else.
