Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that this is probably one of my favorite chapters, and I hope u like it:)
-Your soul, RHODES (it's important you listen to the song while reading)
Harry
The sky had turned dark when I left the burrow. Street lights set their first marks on the roads and the wind was a silent whisper in my ear.
I looked at my phone.
Draco
-Meet me at the place at 8 pm.
That was all he'd told me. It wasn't much, but it was enough. I knew what he meant.
Trees swayed in the luring darkness as I set off towards the hill. The walk was pretty quick when you weren't blindfolded.
My heart thumped inside my chest as I reached the grey concrete stairs. With each step, I felt how everything else was drowned out.
Was he waiting at the top? Would he see me approach in the dark?
I breathed heavily as I reached the last step.
I saw him immediately. He was leaning against the big tree, already gazing in my direction. Wating. He'd been waiting. My heart thumped harder and I suppressed a smile.
Beside him, was a blanket and light flickered from numerous, small candles placed in the middle. I grinned. He couldn't be serious.
"And then he finally arrived," Malfoy smirked from the other side of the tree. I started moving towards him, each step feeling heavier than the one before.
"You thought I stood you up?" I said, my voice lowering at the same time I neared him.
"You never know," he smiled.
"You sure can't," I whispered so close to his mouth that his lips brushed mine. Then I pulled away.
He rolled his eyes in a grin. "You can't just do that."
I didn't reply. A smile only tugged at my lips.
"Let me kiss you. You have no idea what the waiting has done to me," he whispered in a plea.
"Maybe if you can catch me," I chuckled before I set off, running towards the opposite end of the hill.
The wind caught my hair as I stopped one step away from the edge. Draco was following right beside me and I dove under his arm as he reached out for me. A chuckle escaped me as I once again disappeared from him and ran behind the tree. I pressed my back against the tree, listening to his quiet movements as I waited. Suddenly he was before me, pinning me against the tree.
I pulled him close and let his lips meet mine. Warmth spread throughout my face, and Draco's cold cheeks kissed mine gently in the darkness.
His hands slid behind my neck and I crumbled under the softness of his tongue. I tried turning around making us switch positions, but I tripped and ended up dragging him with me as I fell to the ground.
Draco chuckled above me and leaned over, closing the distance again. His hand brushed down my arm and made its way through my fingers. His eyelashes tickled me gently as they kissed my cheeks.
I slowly drifted away under his touch and didn't even perceive the darkness sweeping around us. The sun finally left the horizon and grey shadows drifted away from the sky. Above us small, glinting lights began to appear.
My lips were completely sore when we finally parted. My cheeks were flushed, and my heart thumped firmly in my chest.
He rolled down on the blanket next to me, besides the candles. I turned my head and gazed at the flickering light playing in his eyes.
"Hello," I said.
"Hello," he replied.
"We never really got to the talking stage did we?"
"I think we delicately skipped it."
"I'm not really sure what to say."
"Then don't."
I looked back up at the sky.
"They're beautiful aren't they?" He breathed, his voice low and full of admiration.
I nodded.
The darkness above us was now enlightened by a million flickering lights all staring back at us.
"It's magnificent how such a big system can create something beautiful like that."
I smiled.
"They all know their place, their purpose. Alone, they're boring and blinding. They might not be big but each of them plays an important role."
"Reflective, aren't you," I grinned.
He chuckled.
"That doesn't make it any less real does it?"
"I suppose not."
"My mother used to tell me that the stars were the former great ancestors of the Malfoy bloodline. Every one of them was created to make the blood strong and proud, and everyone succeeded, that's why they were given a star. I had believed her for a short moment before my father had snorted, telling my mother not to fill me with such foolish stories."
"I'm sorry," I whispered in the darkness.
"For what?"
"For the way he treated you. I know what it's like to live with people who wish you were different."
I felt his gaze follow me."I can admit that his methods can be extreme, yes. Not always pleasant or convenient, but necessary as he probably would say himself. Sometimes I hate him, for still loving him in spite of all."
"He's your father," I said.
"That's not a matter of course," he answered.
I let my hand glide down the blanket, finding his cold fingers clutched in a fist. I wrapped my hand around it, feeling how his skin slowly loosened up.
We looked back at the sky.
"It looks like a star is missing?"
"How can a star be missing. There are millions of them?"
"Well, it's missing because when I look at all the other stars, it just doesn't feel right."
"God, I never realized you were so interested in stars," I chuckled.
"Me neither," he grinned leaning over my head.
He bent down and placed a gentle kiss on my lips.
I only gazed one more time at the gleaming lights before I let myself get lost in the darkness.
