Harry

I didn't know what to feel when I walked toward the cafeteria. My thoughts were flowing around in a hurricane, no sign of control over them showing.

Maybe I just shouldn't have said anything.

I burst through the main door, barely registering the very familiar chest colliding with my face. Luckily I stayed on my feet this time, meeting the smiling face of Cedric Diggory.

"I swear it wasn't planned this time," he chuckled, as he saw the flustered look on my face.

He was wearing a red plain sweater beneath his school robes and had a slim, little book tucked underneath his arm.

"I'm sorry, I was just wandering around with a lot on my mind."

"Something you wanna talk about?" His voice turned slighter serious, and I let myself meet his dark chestnut eyes.

I shook my head. I doubted he actually wanted to know what went through my head.

"Just a lot of homework," I sighed.

He smiled and I felt myself almost entirely forgetting the name of the boy who'd caused all this mess in the first place.

Guilt filled me up from the bottom of my stomach. This wasn't fair to him. He didn't deserve this.

He doesn't deserve you, Harry.

"So, what are you doing here?" I said to change the subject. "I mean, the school closed a couple of hours ago, shouldn't you be out there living your best life as they say?"

He chuckled. "Actually, I was home, but then I remembered that I had forgotten to pick something up earlier today," he gestured towards the little blue book in his hand.

"But I could ask you the same question, Harry," Cedric smirked. A movement that made legs feel like jelly.

"What?" I asked.

"What were you doing here?" He grinned.

Oh.

Come on, Harry. It's an easy question. You were just working on an assignment.

I was about to say something when suddenly, he grabbed my hand. I felt everything within me tense with his touch.

It didn't feel the same way it felt with Drace, though. Stop it, Harry!

Cedric blushed. "You know I was just wondering if you maybe wanted to talk about it, or just anything really? Maybe we could even grab some coffee?"

This left me speechless, the blood in my cheeks rising to the surface, pretty much exposing me.

I smiled under my breath."You mean like a date."

He tilted his head and smirked.

"Well, uhmm yeah..."

I pretended I had to think about it.

"Uhm... Yeah, sure why not? Maybe Friday next week?"

"Cool," Cedric bit his lip and let go of my hand.

"I'll see you around then, Harry."

My name on his lips sounded sweet and fresh and it made my heart beat slightly faster. My palm felt sweaty even after he'd let go of my hand. He then lent in and pressed a kiss to my cheek before turning around and leaving me alone in front of Hogwarts.

I watched him disappear around the corner, his brown curls moving to the side as he looked back one more time. He smiled and then he was gone.

I believe I stood there for a whole ten minutes. Trying to wrap my head around what had just happened.

Smiling to myself, I started to make my way home, back to the Weasley's. The feeling of Cedric's soft lips still lingering on my cheek.

"Why the happy face?" Ron chuckled as I strolled through the door.

I refused to tell him anything. He would simply torment me for the rest of my life.

"Nothing," I said calmly, lying down on the bed beside him.

"Did you have fun studying with Malfoy?" He grinned.

"Not really," I said shortly.

"Then, please enlighten me, friend. Whatever is the reason for such a cheering expression on my dear Harry's lips?"

I shot him a confused glance, resulting in both of us cracking up.

Before I fell asleep that night there was one thing that kept running around in my mind.

I had a date with the most handsome pair of chestnut eyes. Luckily for me, they belonged to one of the prettiest guys I'd ever met. I promised myself that I would try to make it work. No more Malfoy. No more screw-ups, but unfortunately, that had started to become a very frequent habit of mine. And I knew that there was nothing I could do to stop it.
