Harry

I'm even sure how I found my way to Snape'd class the following day, but I did. And it was horrible.

Neither Hermione nor Ron was present, and Cedric didn't even have this class. So it was just Malfoy and me. And Pansy.

Snape looked at us from behind his desk as he made us open History of Muggles.

Dead silence fell upon the class as everyone attempted to read. I caught my eyes reading the same line over and over again.

I raised my gaze from the page and saw Neville turning back and forth through pages as if none made sense to him.

In the corner of the room, Draco was sitting with Pansy. I watched as he leaned down to her ear and whispered something. She giggled, and Snape raised his gaze from his book contemplating whether to say anything about it.

I looked at the book again, my ears desperately trying to keep all sounds out. Especially the ones coming from the back.

I looked at Draco. He returned my gaze and smirked, entwining his hand with Pansy's. I felt my eyes beginning to sting and my cheeks grew warm.

I tapped my pencil on the desk and looked down. I'd given up on the book but kept my eyes focused on it.

Every once in a while I let my eyes slip up to Draco and Pansy. Pansy was stroking the back of his hair, a complacent smile plastered on her face. My breathing fastened and I closed my eyes.

"Is there a problem Mr. Potter?" Snape asked indifferently.

"No, Professor," I said, gazing in Draco and Pansy's direction.

"Are Mr. Malfoy and Ms. Parkinson distracting you," Snape smirked. Chuckles went along the class. I bit my cheek and met Snape's stare.

"No, Professor."

"Good. Then I would recommend focusing on your book."

"Yes, Professor."

Snape returned to his desk, and I could feel the embarrassment slowly digging under my skin.

I only let my gaze slip to the back one more time. Draco once again met my stare, but I was surprised to see he looked far from pleased.

I didn't hesitate to leave when the bell rang. I knew he was watching as I stormed out, not even sparing him a glance.
