Song=You were good to me-Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler

Harry

"Harry!"

"Harry wait!"

I stumbled through the front doors, faint echoes of my name thrown through the wind behind me. I stopped my motion and clenched my eyes together. I tightened my fists and tried to slow my breathing. I turned around, finding Cedric hurrying behind me.

"What happened?" he asked gently, as he approached me.

I tried to find words, but nothing but thin air escaped my mouth. Tears stung my eyes, my throat thriving with pain from the huge lump stuck within it,

"Are you okay?"

I looked at the ground and shook my head. Warm fingers touched my skin as he lifted my chin and made me meet his brown auburn eyes.

"I just feel so stupid," I managed to say.

"Why?"

"To let myself believe that he would change."

"He did."

I let myself meet his warm brown eyes, finding what seemed to be sincere honesty. Either he was a really good liar, or the wind must've messed up his words.

"What?"

"I've seen it. I've seen how he's changed behaviors. Stopped picking on people. I don't know what happened, and I don't know if you had any part in it, but he's not the same person he used to be. And trust me, I've known the guy for a long time. "

"Well, apparently you're wrong," I breathed, looking at the ground again. "He doesn't care about anyone but himself."

"Yeah, he does. And that person is you. I've noticed the long gazes he's been sending you the past year. He's been attentive to everything you've been doing. Each time you walked into a room, his whole facade completely changed. And that's why it makes no sense to me why he's ruining all of it?" Confusion played over Cedric's face as he looked away.

Fire burned in my eyes, and the lump in my throat tightened. "I really can't be here anymore Cedric," I said, slightly turning away again.

"You know I'm here for you right?" he said, pulling my arm back to look at him.

I looked at the ground and then at him. "Yes."

"Don't go," he said.

"Why?"

"I won't just let you go when you're feeling like that." His jaw tightened.

"Cedric it's not your fault. I just can't.... be here right now"

I noticed how his eyes slowly turned redder and his breathing fastened. "You don't understand, Harry. I can't leave you like this-"

"I will call you Cedric," I said, really just trying to get away now.

"But I won't be there."

I took a step away from him, my patience slowly slipping up."What do you mean? You only live like three blocks away-"

"Yeah for now."

I stopped. Everything around me stopped.

"What?"

"Shit," he murmured.

"What do you mean?"

"My parents-"

I stared at him, watching as he bit his lip and exhaled.

"I'm not going to be at Hogwarts next year."

"What?"

"I got the last spot at an internship far away from here. I've been signed up for years now. It's always been something I really wanted and now I finally got the opportunity. But it's on the other side of the country. And I'm supposed to start right after Christmas.

"What?" I repeated.

"You can't be serious."

"I'm really sorry. And I know it's really bad timing. But I don't want to move, knowing you aren't doing well.

"I-"

The words choked in my throat. "I don't want you to think about me. I'm gonna be fine. And I'm really happy for you."

"Harry?"

"Yes?"

He made me look at him. A tear finally escaped the corner of my eye. A tear for many reasons. I slowly walked towards him and buried my face in his shoulder.

"I'm really gonna miss you," I whispered.

"I'm gonna miss you too."

And then we stood there for a while. And for a moment I forgot about the guy who broke my heart. I forgot about my parents. Forgot that Cedric was moving. I was just there. Existing. And when I finally opened my eyes, letting in the light from the real world, I could've sworn I saw a pair of gray eyes watching us from the shadows.
