Day 1 of camp
Song= I found-Amber Run
Harry
I don't believe I'd ever seen so many people gathered on one platform before. Howls of birds chimed in my ear as I found myself lost in a whirlwind of travelers.
Beside me, a group of Hufflepuffs was chuckling at something that one of them had said and I gazed at Hermione beside me as a smile spread on her face.
Backpacks in all sizes surrounded us, some of them bigger than others. I wondered what in the world some people had brought that needed space of half a closet.
I knew Ron's mom had been the one to manage our suitcases and I didn't doubt she had packed none less than twice as much of what we needed, but somehow our backpacks were still quite smaller than some others.
I spotted Professor Lupin and Trelawney talking instinctively against the yellow brick wall, both of them already looking tired.
Lupin looked annoyed at the papers in his hand while Trelawney kept turning her head to the side, looking scared in the directions of where loud noises originated.
I looked at the wall behind me where a weird sign was hanging.
'Platform 9¾' it said.
"Hey, what's the deal with that one?" I asked Hermione, pointing to the sign.
She turned her head and looked at the place I was pointing at."Oh, that's actually kind of interesting. You see, it was once put there and used for a movie. The owners of the train station just thought it would be funny to keep it as a memory."
I gazed at Ron and he smiled in return as we both looked back at Hermione.
"I see," I chuckled.
I left Ron and Hermione to sit down against the yellow brick wall. My gaze flew to a tall man swept in a tight black suit, a small figure following him from behind. The man was walking with steady, fast steps, the boy behind him hardly able to follow.
I watched as the man stopped and turned to the boy. He looked no older than 8. The man was too far away to hear what he was saying, but his face didn't look pleased. They rounded a corner and I was no longer able to follow the situation.
I turned my head and gazed at the opposite side of the wall behind me. Someone was sitting there. Someone with way too familiar blonde hair.
Malfoy hadn't noticed me as I gazed at him from the opposite side, but it was easy to tell that he did not look pleased to be here.
I watched as his face shifted as his attention caught something. He was sitting completely still gazing at something I couldn't see. He looked up at the professors still talking and then back in the direction from before.
He rose from the ground and now completely disappeared from my vision. I got up and followed him around the corner looking at what he was doing.
I nearly stumbled back on the ground as the man from before appeared from behind the wall, pure fury spreading from his eyes. He quickly glanced at me as he passed me, no words escaping him.
I leaned against the wall and gazed at Malfoy behind the wall. As I got closer I was able to hear voices.
"It's okay," a voice said. His voice.
There was no sound of spike or mocking in his voice. It was different. A lighter voice said something so low I couldn't hear what.
"I- I know how you feel," Malfoy breathed, his voice low and tired. "I'm not going to tell you that it gets better, because it probably doesn't. Trust me, I might be a stranger, but this is coming from a stranger who's been living with someone like your father my entire life."
