Chapter 31: Years after

I looked myself into a full size length mirror and I felt immediately disappointed. I am so different years ago, although I changed too much and not all those changes is good for me. I look classy, sophisticated, elegant and powerful and yet I am starting to dislike my new self because I am starting to lose myself over the changes that I once dream of.

"You looks so pretty on that red dress" Ellias said and smile.

"Thank you" I replied

"Shall we?" He offered his right hand and I immediately ankled my left arm into his.

"You wore the perfume that I gave?" He asks when we started to walk.

"Yeah, it smells good" I smiled

"You bought a new one?" I ask as he entered the car

"Yep, I just bought it yesterday, do you like it?" He asks while buckling his seat belt

"It's pretty good and it's comfy" I answered.

He smiled and I remain in silent the whole ride.

Ten minutes after we already reach the venue. He opens the car door for me and guided me as we went in to the venue.

"You're so adorable, honey" Ellias mom greeted us on the entrance. I greeted her and smiled at her

"Where's Dad, mom?" tanong ni Ellias sa Ina

"He went out for a call, I am waiting for him here"

"You should wait for him inside mom"

"It's fine, I also want a fresh air anyway. Vanna, you should go your dad is looking for you earlier. Escort her, son" Ellias mom said, I nod as an answered.

"Where's dad?" I ask Olivia as I saw her greeting some of her colleagues

"He's waiting for you, you gotta be hurry" she said.

As we walk in, I saw dad talking to his business friends

"Happy Birthday, Dad" I greeted her with a perfect smile on my face.

"You're of late" he said and make a face

"You're so handsome today" I said and giggle

"Not just today, sweetie" he mumbled

"Oh" Dad look to Ellias

"Happy birthday, Uncle" Ellias said

"Come on, I told you to call me Dad" Dad frowned as he said that

"Happy Birthday, Marcus" a colleague of his greeted him so I make way and went to the table with Elias

"Wine?" I nod and get a glass of wine

I sighed as I realize that I get easily coped up with a changes. I still remember when I first went to this kind of event and I felt so low back then, and that what pushed me hard to be better because I am so tired to be looked down by people around me.

I still remember when I have to hire a tutor for me to learn their language and then after that they force me to study to get a degree.

After dad's speech on his birthday, I chose to stay for another hour and then after that I told Elias that I wanted to go home. Nagpaalam na rin ako kay Dad na maagang uuwi para makapag pahinga.

"Are you okay?" He asks

"I'm tired, I had no sleep since last week" I said and then yawn after.
