Chapter 38: Handcuffed

Weeks after and I've been so very busy to manage my father's business.

Gusto kong magpahinga pero hindi ko magawa dahil sobrnag daming ginagawa sa business. We are in a peak season so we must do our best to meet the customer satisfaction in a faster way.

Nakarinig ako ng katok sa pinto at naroon si Alice.

"Invitation" anito at saka inabot ang kulay gold na invitation saakin.

It was from Mr. Maniego.
I read the details and sighed. Next week will be my rest but then I have to attend this party so I can't have my rest anymore.

"We are done for today, madam Vanna" nakangiting ani Alice.

I smiled back. "Really?" It was past 3pm and we are happy to have a rest for today.

"Let's go to my unit, order some food" sambit ko at saka kinuha iyong bag ko.

Dinaanan muna namin ang anak ni Alice sa apartment nila may lakad ang asawa ni Alice.

"Hello, baby Alicia" I greeted her. She smiled at me and giggle.

"Cute" I uttered.

Nakarating kami sa condo unit ko at saka namahinga roon. We watch some movies and laughed together.

Nakarinig ako ng katok mula sa pinto. Tumayo ako at saka binuksan iyon.

"Delivery, ma'am" the man said

"Oh, right." Kinuha ko iyong box mula sakanya

"Thank you po" I politely said and close the door after he leave.

"Ano yan?" Tanong ni Alice

"A dress for the upcoming event" sagot ko at saka inilapag ang kahon sa lamesa.

We are in the middle of watching movies when Alice phone rang. She answered it and it seems like there's an emergency

"It's fine, I'll take care of Alicia for a while" sambit ko dahil mukhang nag-aalala ito

"Pasensya ka na, Vanna ha. Iyong lupa kasi na nabili naming mag-asawa kailangan kong asikasuhin " anito saakin.

I nod and answered. "Okay lang, good girl naman si Alicia at saka sanay naman akong mag-alaga ng bata, I took care of my three siblings before" sambit ko sakanya.

"Salamat talaga" Ani Alice bago umalis.

"Tayo muna ngayon ha, baby Alicia." I said and smiled at her but she pouted.

"Ayaw mo kay Ninang?" Tanong ko kay Alicia.

"Guto" bulol nitong wika.

I chuckled and handed her a bottle of milk but she refuse. "Lollipop" anito.

"Lollipop? Wala ditong lollipop" sambit ko sakanya.

She pouted and she was about to cry "lollipop" ulit nito.

Fuck! I didn't see it coming.

"Alright, alright. Bibili tayo" I said in frustration.

Goodness, kaalis lang ni Alice saka naman nag tuntrum itong si Alicia.

"Bibili tayo ng lollipop kaya good girl ka lang dapat ha" Sambit ko saka tumayo at binuhat si Alicia.

Pinatay ko iyong TV at saka kinuha ang wallet ko. Lumabas na kami ng unit at saka pumasok sa elevator. Alicia is heavy and I couldn't carry her anymore.

Ibinaba ko si Alicia at saka hinawakan ang kamay nito. Bubuhatin ko nalang sya pag labas namin sa elevator.

I can see the smile in Alicia's face. She must really like a lollipop.
