You did it again
You spent the past year fooling yourself
Trying so hard to prove others wrong
For what?
For you to be beaten down, manipulated, and taught once again how not to be treated?
You were so busy believing he wanted to change,
that the words he said were the truth, the begging and the flowers and the kind gestures
somehow meant that he was different now.
You foolish girl.
You should have chosen yourself instead.
