January 2023
The coldness of the flooring bitting at my skin,
My vision blurring as my unshed tears begin.
Unable to make it more than a couple feet,
Before crumbing in defeat.
His big loud meows ricochetting around my ears,
His little paws putting pressure on my legs as he nears.
My arm being nudged as his head nuzzles me,
Bringing my tear filled eyes away from the wall to he.
My shaky hands touch his fur,
As he crawls onto my lap and starts to purr.
I bury my face in his neck,
Not being able to keep myself in check.
The tears finally running down my cheeks,
Hugging him to me in relief.
