I stood next to Gimli when the morning came, smiling as Haldir himself clipped the Elven brooch on my cloak which is different from the others, more beautiful in it's simplicity, I watched as the he trailed a finger gently down my cheek to my neck.
"A rare jewel" he mumbled making me smile grow before he stepped away at the voice of Lord Celeborn.
"Never before have we clad strangers in the grab or our own people," he told us with a friendly smile "may these cloaks help shield you from unfriendly eyes" the elf's eyes fell on me as I bowed to him before placing a hand on Merry and Pippin's shoulders and moving them towards the boats.
"Here Sam" I said, holding my hand out for him, grateful for the help he took it, letting me guide him into the boat we would share.
"Elanor, look" Legolas voice came making me turn to look at the elf as he holds up a small square of bread "Lembas!"
"What is Lembas?" Sam asked, watching as I smile at the elf who turned to look at the hobbits around us.
"Elvish Way-bread" he explained while we take a small bit "one small bite is enough to fill the stomach of a grown man" I bit back a laugh at the tone of pride in the elf's voice as he let the packages fall into the boat.
"How many did you eat?" Merry asked, turning to a sheepish looking Pippin.
"Four" he responded making laughter fall from my lip's as I bent down to put some things into the boat I would share with Sam and Frodo.
"That's pretty" Sam stated making me look down at the small jewel he pointed to as it hung around my neck.
"A gift I got from Lady Galadriel years ago" I replied watching as the hobbit nodded.
"You struggle to use your powers" the Lady's voice stated as I stopped in front of the Lady.
"I get to a certain point then it disappears" I admitted watching as the Lady pulled a necklace from her hands and move it to hook it around my neck.
"My gift to you is a necklace made from part of Earendil, our most beloved star" Galadriel stated as I looked down at the glowing stone "for when you or others are in need".
I smiled as I clutched the stone before letting out a giggle when drops of water covered me, looking to the hobbits, who sat with timid smiles on their faces before I bent down and splashed them with small droplets of water.
We started down the river, rowing next to Legolas, Gimli and Pippin.
"Something has pleased you" I stated when I saw the content look on Gimli's face, the dwarf looked at me with a bright smile.
"To think I would swoon at this parting," he stated "for I looked my last upon that which is fairest, henceforth I shall call nothing fair unless it be her gift to me" I smile at the dwarf.
"What was her gift?" Legolas questioned.
"I asked her for one hair from her golden head" Gimli mumbled making me smile as he breathed "she gave me three" my smile grew as I and Legolas shared a look of bright smiles.
"Why is that important?" Sam asked making me look down at him, taking a glance at the dwarf.
"A long time ago, Feanor a very great and noble elf asked the same of the Lady Galadriel" I explained "wishing only to have hair from her golden head because it reminded him of the two shining trees in Valinor but she refused him".
"And yet she give Gimli three?" Sam questioned, watching as I nodded.
"Three times as much" I mumbled and felt the smile grow on my lips "Lady Galadriel respects him" causing Sam to let out a breath.
