Mary Odette's POV

The inside of casino welcomed me with a smell of the eat-all-you-can-buffet shrimp. The sounds of cards whirring in the hands of the dealers. The bells and whistles of the various slot machines, and the clattering noise of their levers being pulled. Even the wide playground of neon and strobing lights is so amazing to look at as they reflects half the size of the casino royale.

I narrowed my eyes and stilled at my left where I could hear a murmur of the crowds. The soft tumble of the dice at the far distance and the clicking of a roulette wheel, to where the way red and black rush together as it spins. The sight of gold, silver and bronze as well as the exquisite fountains and statuary.

Hindi ko mapigilang mamangha sa kung paano sabay sabay na umaalingawngaw ang iba't ibang uri ng bagay na nilalaro ng bawat lalaking naka-business suits. Some of them looks very pressured and afraid to lose their games and some are just too confident to even notice that they are already losing.

Is this how they spend their leisure time? Gambling and burning dollar bills? Grabe nakakapanliit dahil lahat yata ng narito ay mga milyonaryo at bilyonaryo. There are also a group of millionaires' wives gambling in group, sipping a glass of champagne.

“What can you say about the place?"

I got startled at his sudden whisper. Napahawak ako sa bandang puso upang pakalmahin ang mabilis na pagpintig niyon.

“A-Ah.. ano, it seems new to me," I even forced a laugh to light up the atmosphere. “It looks like a playground of delinquents— but don't get me wrong, it was just based from my own perspective. They look oldie delinquents for burning money instead of working their asses off to earn more. Well, it's always their choice, pera nila 'yon at sila lang ang may karapatan kung saan nila 'yon gagamitin."

Natigilan ako nang natahimik ang lalaking katabi. His serious gaze set at the group of businessmen playing cards. Nanlaki ang mata ko nang mapagtanto ang mga nasabi at mabilis na napalingon rito.

“P-Pasensya na, I-I think I just offended you." I said sincerely.

He chuckled a bit, giving chills down my body. My face heated as I saw how the beautiful dealers looked at our direction.

“Nah, I don't mind if it's you."

My heart raced so fast, nanghihina ang tuhod ko. The usual effect I had whenever I am together with him or the other two.

“Have you got ideas already?" He asked after any moment.

A mysterious smile crept on my lips and nodded. “Yes, I think I already have an idea, but you can always suggest upon your likings."

He smirked. “I'll keep that in mind, sweet."

Napamaang ako. “S-Stop calling me that."

The smirk on his lips didn't disappear as he gaze me seriously.

“Let me remind you what was written on our contract, Ms. Mary." He then leaned closer to me making me moved away a little bit. “You are obliged to follow whatever I want and that includes me calling you anything on my likings."

“C-Can I still say no if I don't like something you'll say?" I asked, hoping that he'll be fine with it.
