Genesis' View

After leaving the vatos camp, we got on the highway towards Fort Benning.

Daryl left his truck behind to take his motorcycle, and the van was also left behind. Whatever we couldn't fit in the RV or Carol's car, was put in the bed of my truck.

Daryl was leading the way while the RV, the car, and my truck were following behind smoothly.

Dale, Andrea, Shane, Glenn, T-dog, Richard, and Kaden were in the RV. Lori, Rick, Carl, Carol, and Sophia were in the car. Daryl was on his bike. And Sierra was with me in my truck.

We came to a slow stop, and I watched as Daryl turned back towards the RV.

An 18 wheeler was flipped on its side, making it a little more difficult for the RV to pass.

"I don't like this place." Sierra looked around at the unoccupied cars.

It was a graveyard of cars that were flipped over, crashed, and abandoned. There were definitely some bodies in some of these.

The RV came to a stop, making Rick and I stop in the process. We all met in front of the RV, as Dale and Glenn were looking at the hose from the RV.

"Problem Dale?" Shane asked, holding his shotgun.

"Just the small matter of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope of-" Dale turned to look at the cars. "Okay, that was dumb."

"If you can't find a radiator hose here..." Shane started.

"There's a bunch of stuff we can find." Daryl rummaged through a trunk of a car.

"I can Siphon more fuel from these cars for a start," T-Dog stated.

"There's bound to be some type of food and water in these cars," I spoke up, shucking my jacket off. Sierra grabbed it and put it on.

"This is a graveyard." Lori sighed. "I don't know how I feel about this."

"Come on y'all, just look around. Gather what you can." Shane said, and people started to split into small groups.

I watched as Sierra and Kaden walked alongside Richard, peering into the dirty windows of the cars.

"Which one?" Glenn held two screwdrivers up to Dale.

"The flathead. Radiator hose clamp is always a flathead." Dale explained. "Here, you do it." Dale handed Glenn the screwdriver.

Dale walked to where Rick was, and I walked up to Glenn.

"Looks like Dale put you to work," I said, and Glenn nodded. Glenn pulled the hose out, and Shane walked over to us. "Wanna go on a hose clamp hunt with us? Give you something to do." I offered, and the three of us walked towards the abundance of trucks.

The three of us stood in front of a box truck with the hood popped. I looked around, to see another box truck behind us. I nudged Shane to get his attention, and he turned to me.

"Give me a boost up here, just so if Dale can't see everything, I can too," I said, and I climbed on top of it. Shane read the truck I was standing on and opened the back of it.

"Glenn. Gen. Were we short on water?" He asked, and I looked over the edge. Light blue caps were slightly sticking out. Water jugs. A smile spread upon my face as I watched him rip open a bottle, soaking himself.

"Hey, save me some." Glenn let out a laugh.

"It's like being baptized, man." Water dripped from his clothes and face.

I watched Dale look through his binoculars, and I glanced to where he was looking at. Rick started looking, and geeks were coming right towards us.

Dale laid down flat on top of the RV, and I knelt.

"Hey! We got company. Way more than we can handle." I whispered down to them. Glenn and Shane scrambled to get under the car, and I followed in Dale's actions and laid flat on the roof.

I watched as Rick ran through the cars to warn everyone, and I saw Sierra under a car alongside Kaden, Richard just up ahead of them.

The large number of geeks slowly stumbled through, as I watched over everyone to make sure everyone was okay.

T-Dog was stumbling through holding his arm as blood ran down his forearm. Daryl showed up next to him and threw two dead geeks on top of him and T.

I heard Sophia yelp and a geek get down to her level on the ground. I watched as she ran into the woods, with Rick following behind.

I jumped down from the box truck, stabilizing myself against Shane, as we rushed to the guardrail where Sophia ran down.

"Lori. There's two walkers after my baby." Carol cried. I leaned against a car, as Carol stood right up against the rail with Lori on her side.

Everyone waited for a while. Genesis was standing on top of a truck when there was rustling down in the woods. Gen moved her hand to where her gun was strapped on her outer thigh, just to see the top of Rick's head.

"Lori!" Rick yelled in a hushed voice.

"We're here!" She called back. Everyone gathered around the opening, and Rick climbed up the hill on all fours.

"Where's Sophia?" Rick looked around at the group. "She's not back?"

Carol let out a sob and fell to her knees. Andrea and Lori went down to her level and comforted her.

"Rick, she never came back," Gen muttered to the ex-cop.

"You sure this is the spot?" Daryl questioned.

"I left her right here. I drew the walkers way off in that direction up the creek." Rick explained.

"Without a paddle. Seems where we've landed." Daryl muttered.

"She was gone by the time I got back here. I figured she just took off and ran back to the group. I told her to go that way and keep the sun on her left shoulder." Rick pointed in the direction of where Glenn was standing, while Shane and I stood off to the side.

"Hey, short round, why don't you step off to one side? You're mocking up the trail." Daryl called out to Glenn. He stepped back, gripping his gun tight.

"Assuming she knows her left from her right." Shane figured, glancing back at Rick.

"Shane, she understood me fine," Rick argued.

"She's probably tired, and definitely scared. She had her close call with two geeks. You might have to wonder how much of what you said actually stuck with her." I suggested, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Got clear prints right here. She did like you said, headed back to the highway. Let's spread out, make our way back." Daryl climbed out of the water with the help of Shane.

"She couldn't have gotten far," I said and walked following Daryl off to the side.

"Hey, we're gonna find her. She'll be tuckered out hiding in a bush somewhere." Shane said.

I hope you're right, Shane. I hope you're right.
